Sonic Studio has announced the release of version 1.1 of soundBlade.
soundBlade is a general purpose production tool, designed to record, edit, process, restore and deliver audio on CD, DDP or as AIFF, WAV or BWF files for further processing. Particularly well suited to handle the difficult tasks of mastering, soundBlade is available in two versions:
- soundBlade native is a host–based version that employs your Core Audio interface for I/O functions and bypasses Core Audio for the processing steps that count.
- soundBlade accelerated uses Sonic Studio's Series 300 DSP I/O Processors to provide ultra-low latency and the highest fidelity during processing.
Version 1.1 incorporates more than three dozen feature additions and stability enhancements, including the highly anticipated dual EDL mode for improved source/destination editing and support for split DDP file sets. Also in the 1.1 release is Vive from iZotope, which bolsters the production power of soundBlade by bundling basic restoration functions crucial to a complete workflow.
soundBlade is available for Mac OS x and has an MSRP of $1495. A demo version is available.
