Steinberg Media Technologies has announced the release of the LoopMash app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Steinberg says that LoopMash presents an innovative, extremely entertaining approach to mangling beats and tunes by simply swiping the display. With its studio-grade effects, an array of presets, top-notch content and user-friendly control, this app not only is visually remarkable, but provides a deluge of possibilities to make music the fun and easy way.

By matching and replacing comparable elements, LoopMash blends up to four two-bar loops together. The app comes with over 250 audio loops from different music styles plus more than 40 grooving factory presets plus an unlimited number of user presets. Each preset includes eight scenes, while each scene blends up to four loops together. The mashed-up loops are fed through the low-pass and high-pass filters, flanger and phaser effects for some over-the-top madness.
