Steinberg has announced that its CI2 Advanced Integration USB Studio, a new unit offering both audio recording and controller functionality as well as total Cubase integration, is now shipping to authorized Steinberg resellers.
The CI2 studio comprises a portable hardware unit as well as a dedicated version of Cubase: Cubase AI 5. The CI2 hardware sports a straight-to-the-point interface that lets you jack in your guitar and mic to get jamming right away. It features two-channel XLR/TRS combo inputs equipped with two sophisticated microphone preamps and phantom power, one HI-Z for direct guitar input, Line and Phones outputs, USB port and a footswitch connector for the Interactive Recording feature. The complementing controller section holds the required knobs and buttons plus it features the innovative AI Knob powered by Steinberg and Yamaha's Advanced Integration technology to enhance system performance and flexibility.
Designed in cooperation with Yamaha to support first-time producers and musicians looking for a fully-featured mobile production package, CI2 costs €229 / £191*.
