Over on the official Oscillicious blog, we've been talking about workflows and just unveiled a new concept called the Freestyle Recorder. The big idea here was to try to make the computer do as much as possible for you, if you just want to sit down and capture an idea quickly. The Freestyle Recorder records MIDI and then automatically chops up your takes when you stop playing. After that, if you tap along with one of the recordings, you can have it automatically cut it into a seamless loop, and then you can drop a beat over it that just snaps into place.
