The Vienna Symphonic Library now offers its complete First Edition for half price for all qualified students. The discount is available from October 1st through November 15th, 2004, offering the opportunity to get more than 100GB of Vienna's highly acclaimed orchestral instruments for only $1,845.

With the purchase of a personalized Student's First Edition the user is automatically enrolled in the upgrade program of the Vienna Symphonic Library (VIP) and is eligible to upgrade to the Pro Edition for the reduced VIP upgrade price at any later date. Students will have to fax in their official student ID or other qualified proof of enrollment to receive their personalized copy of the Vienna Symphonic Library.

The First Edition is the ideal introduction to Vienna's Symphonic Editions. Released in early 2003 and with 101 GB of data it encompasses the complete range of the modern symphony orchestra.

The Complete Orchestral Package consists of two parts, the Orchestral Cube and the Performance Set. The Orchestral Cube, including the Strings, Brass & Woodwinds, and Percussion sets, offers single note samples (multi-samples) in countless articulations and playing techniques.

The second part, the Performance Set, includes all of the orchestral playing styles that require special sampling techniques and tools to achieve the hyper-realism the Vienna Symphonic Library is known for. The exclusive Performance Tool faithfully recreates legatos, portamentos, slides, glissandos, spiccatos, repetitions and many more styles when used with the special Performance Set samples. The First Edition is customized for GigaStudio 2.5 or higher (Windows) and for EXS24 mk II. The Orchestral Cube can be used in both the Windows and the Mac version of Emagic's EXS24 mk II. The Performance Set, which makes extensive use of Vienna's proprietary Performance Tool utility, is available for Mac OS 9 and OS X, requiring Logic 6.3.1 or higher.
