Whole Sounds updates Baldwin Parlor Grand to v1.1

Whole Sounds has updated Baldwin Parlor Grand to version 1.1.

Fixes and improvements, include:

  • An alternative simple interface has been introduced where the full control set is hidden in favor of a photo of the piano. The simple interface's minimal controls only include the master volume and the preset dialog, but a user can return to the full set of controls with a click.
  • Sustain pedal sounds now respond dynamically. While the "pedal noise" control will still set the volume of the pedal sounds, an additional trim amount has been added so that quiet playing will result in quieter pedal noises. The softer the playing, the softer the pedal sounds, mimicking the tendency to press more gently on the sustain pedal when playing quietly.
  • Extra layers toggle added that will allow the user to turn off the pedal up/down layer, the hammer fall & damper drop layers, and the sustain pedal layer. While these detailed sample layers help add realism, they can double or even triple the sample count, especially when playing passages where the sustain pedal is depressed for a long time. This toggle allows the user to save resources while editing and composing.
  • Smoother dynamics now result in a more gradual increase in volume as velocity increases.

A new set of preset scenes is available from the WholeSounds download page.
