SonicPhoto is an audio program to convert from pictures, photos and drawings to sound. Each picture has its own 'signature', and SonicPhoto will allow you to hear what the picture sounds like.

Higher parts in the picture create higher pitches, while lower areas create deeper tones. Likewise, brighter areas make that tone louder (and darker areas, quieter).

Also included is an instrument/harmony feature so you can create stunning tonal sounds, such as sparkling synths, rippling arpeggios, howling winds, deep organs, dazzling lasers, roaring bass and metallic drones.

Features include:

  • Create an infinite variety of sounds ranging based on the patterns in any picture.
  • Instrument and harmony quantization so you can create tonal sounds.
  • Dozens of in-built presets, so you can immediately try sounds out and experiment.
  • Convincing stereo is automatically added to all sounds.
  • Very easy to use GUI with everything you need at a click of a button.
  • Well thought out system to loading and save custom projects.
  • Instantly adjust the quality to suit your needs (low for preview, high for final result).

Uses:

Experimental composers will appreciate the otherworldly sounds SonicPhoto can produce with ease. Sounds lasting up to an hour in length can provide a backing soundtrack to a film, or be mixed with a piece of music to enrich the atmosphere.

On the shorter end of the time scale, sounds lasting less than half a second can be rendered, with all the aforementioned options such as tonality and frequency adjustment to hone the sound to your requirements.

It's a really interesting experiment, but it would be easier to handle if no fantasy name were given in the different tone variations. (y)
