UPDATE: Oh, I forgot that a lot of people land in here trying to download an actual plugin because Sound Magic can't care less than find a host for their promo product. If you want to download an actual plugin, you should google it and find a 1.3 version that's everywhere. I'm not going to post some random link here cause it's going to die eventually and you will just complain, helpless, until Sound Magic will show you some love. Now, I'd like to go on about my humble preset mod that already got a low rating just because someone didn't understand what's the deal. Hope it helps, though.

========
Default settings mod for Piano One 1.3

I like the sound of this instrument, but I felt that its default patch wasn't honed enough. Release time, overall timbre were a little off for me. Would like to share my default mod patch that sounds a little bit more natural and sits in a mix better. Also it tries to deal with strange velocity curve and very abrupt release cut.

I can't use the presets neither in Version 1.1 nor 1.2.

What is the prob?

If i try to load them in Cantabile or my Daw I got this Message:

The following error(s) had occured: VST PLugin-Piano One-Failed to load preset - version mismatch.

Do the notes always cut off after about 10 seconds or do I maybe have an old version? I downloaded version 1.3, installed it, then downloaded the patch for v1.32 and substituted the .dll file - is that all I need to do?

Thanks for any help.

I downloaded a version that says 1.3 but it will not load the presets on this page.

what I downloaded was from the supreme piano one page http://www.supremepiano.com/product/piano1.html

the file was PianoOne13zip

It works with the default instrument, but I'd like to try the others

I think at one point, right after 1.3 came out, there was either a problem with it or the download was actually 1.2., even though it was labelled 1.3---I had the same preset problem. The 1.3 version on the site now though is definitely 1.3 and works for me with all of the presets. I use the 32 bit version bridged in my 64 bit DAW, since for some reason the native 64 bit version (especially on the release) sounds kind of odd.

That being said, this a really good sounding piano --especially for free!! Props to the Dev.!

OK, I just re-checked the labelling on the actual dll file currently in my VST folder (Windows 32 bit version). It also says 1.0.0.1 even though the zip said 1.3. BUT....all the presets load and are working properly for me in Studio One Prof. 2.0.6.

If my recollection is right, I think the only preset bank that won't work would be the original "kvrer" one, which was superceded by a newer one on that same page. All the rest of the preset banks should work.

I downloaded all the different Piano sets from KVR here but they don't show in Piano one, version 1,32. I got FXP files from the sets, inserted them in Piano One's Folder, but they do not show as presets in the VSTi, only the Default, which sounds awesomely Great, thank you, and a few included numbered Patches that deliver a strange volume boost noise when I play them (Ok, maybe because it's a demo) that I could silence by moving the Attack slider each time but I see no changes in the parameters and the sound is the same as the Default.

I'm using Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 as my DAW and all my VSTis 32 bits load and play perfectly.

My PC is: Intel i7, 870 on Windows 7 64 bits, with 6GB DDR3 RAM.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to install them so that they show and load in Piano One? A special folder (re-) naming, a specific location where to put them?

Thank you so much for any help and for such a great product!

You have to manually add each preset into the patch #. The Preset always
appears as fxp file which you have to use load instruments option (maybe
it has another name in other DAW)to load them. It will not automatically recognized by the plugin

Thanks for answering shane1980 but how can I do that?

Acoustica Mixcraft pro 6 doesn't load fxp files, only fxb and I cannot see the presets in PianoOne as I try to load them, only the default 1 and 2 (apart from the Patches).

I don't know how to manually add each preset into a patch.. Sorry for my ignorance..

Alex, do you have a VST folder? Yes? The whole PianoOne13 folder has to be copied or moved into that VST folder. I don't know what DAW you use (I use Mixcraft 6, I created mine) but I believe every DAW has a VST plugins Folder, be it installed by default by the program or one that you already created.

Sorry cannot help you with the other DAWs. Help should be on its way soon...

This is EXACTLY what happened to me when I first added the patches. So I opened "Piano one" inside my DAW and manually assigned the patches (I downloaded) to the numbered (empty) patch banks under the "presets" drop down menu.

I have downloaded Piano One and installed it in my VST folder. I have tried using it in a couple of different DAWs but can't get any sound. In both cases I can see the keyboard keys move in response to the events sequence but the sound is completely dead. I haven't had this issue with the various other VST instruments I use and I can't work out what I am doing wrong with Piano One.

Can anyone help please?

Try both versions (32 and 64 bits, not together though). Sorry, can't remember which one I installed but it plays beautifully in Mixcraft Pro Studio 6.

I guess you installed the whole folder (PianoOne13) in your VST folder, not only the dll.

I'm still in the world of 32bit but your point about the location of the whole folder may be the problem - I can't remember whether I put the whole folder in the VST folder or just the dll. I'll check it out when I get home later.

You're welcome!

Anyway, if you're using Mixcraft, only 32 bits VSTs are usable. I have Windows 7 64bits, but I believe in the VST world, it works accordingly to your DAWs' capacity. Some can use 64 bits, some 32bits only. As for any other DAW, check in the "About ...." section or ask around..

Glad it helped you! :D

Hi,

I have had good luck running the 1.3 program in Windows, as well as most of the patches offered above here.

What is the 2.0 version, 1.32 version, and Special Edition? It is mentioned that they are updates - how do I apply these to the 1.3 version? Their folders shows a .dll extension inside, but when loaded they look the same as the 1.3 version but with no sound. And no "hidden" parameters are visible.

I'm not sure what these updates are, and would welcome any help in using them properly. Thanks!

I really like the sound of this thing, but I'm having a problem.

Max Volume is making the instrument get louder instead of softer as I turn the knob down. Even the least loud position (all the way clockwise) hits too hot in my DAW and overloads the fader before the audio leaves Piano One. I can hear distortion when I hit a lot of keys hard, even with no other plugins inserted and the fader turned down to compensate; thus the distortion is happening all inside of Piano One. My instinct is to turn down the volume of Piano One inside the plugin but there is no way to do it. Am I missing something? I'm using the AU in Logic.

Thank you.

1st of all sorry for my bad english. Nice to be in this discussion.

I have installed everything and i came up (maybe) to a solution for the "Not-playing-presets"-Problem.

I use Cubase as my DAW. with F11-Key you can get your VST-Instrument Manager. Here You choose "Piano one" and then click the right icon. Choose "Import FXP/FXB" and select the Preset-Sound, you want to play.

In my DAW it works fine, but I can hear, that every (every) sounds have a "hard end". Try to play a note and hold it (for example as You would do at the end aof a song. There is no fade out to zeropoint, but after 8 seconds the sound is "killed".

Another unnatural phenomen: Striking a Key, I always hear overtones allthough the sustain-pedal is not

in use. Anyone an idea? Is there an update? I use V1.32

Thanks

I also had problems getting any sound from Piano One even thought it seemed to load OK and the keys actually moved when MIDI was coming in.

The problem was that I had put the dll and the resource files together in the same folder (Piano One) in my VST folder.

The solution? I pulled the Piano One folder out onto my desktop, opened it, and dragged the dll back into the VST folder. Then I closed the Piano One folder and dragged that back into my VST folder as well.

The same files are now in my VST folder, but the dll is not inside the Piano One folder anymore. Guess what? Problem solved. Hope this might help other users.

PS this piano sounds great.

I have encountered the same issue the first time I have tried it.

It's because you have installed an update (certainly the last update of course) BEFORE having first installed the initial version.

So, here is the procedure:

  1. First, delete your file Piano One.dll.
  2. Then check in you folder where is located "Piano One.dll". It contains a subfolder itself named "Piano One".
  3. Delete this subfolder named Piano One. Don't be afraid, You'll lose nothing. If you are afraid of it, simply rename it with other letters at the beginning or at the end. But I assure you that you'll loose nothing. The content of this subfolder is simply necessary parameters for the dll.
  4. Then install this version (unzip it entirely in your VST's folder) : http://www.supremepiano.com/download/PianoOne13.zip
Do not install another version for the moment!
Of course it will install Piano One and it will recreate the subfolder.
  5. Then relaunch Piano One in your host to try it. Normally it will sound, now! Yeah.
  6. And then ONLY AFTER THAT you will be able to install the last update! (for the moment it is this one, the "special edition" of 21 september 2012).
  7. Now don't replace it anymore when installing patches and banks! Of course you will install all the beautiful patches made for Piano One which are available in the "Banks & Patches" tab at the top of this page, but never replace again the dll until the potential creation of a future new update ! Beware !

Many people have the same issue that you encounter and that I have encountered. It was always because we installed the updates of Piano One without having installed first the initial version.

Since the resolution of my issue I really enjoy Piano One! At the point that it is one of my prefered emulations of pianos, making as well as very expensive commercial products.

To all wondering about how to get the presets. Download them, place them in an easy to find folder. Now, I'm using ableton, but there is a small folder icon on the VST interface which, when hovered over, should read "load preset or bank". Click on this, then find your downloaded presets. Just click on them, and boom, you're set.

I was very excited when I downloaded this and was surprised by the amazing sound it provides. However, there seems to be one fatal flaw. When I play the same note, twice in a row, the sounds stops between them to start the latter note, instead of carrying through. It becomes extremely distracting in pieces involving these repetitions of notes. Is there any way to resolve this issue? Or is it just a problem with Piano One?

See my comment dated 14 October 2013 at 7:13pm which is at the previous page. Have you made exactly this procedure on your laptop ?

This problem is so recurrent that it is really a mess and the developer does nothing to definitively rectify this situation. In fact, I think that he doesn't give a goddamn.

So while waiting for his infinite kindness, my advice is now to forget this plugin (good sound but too many problems with the installation everywhere) and to install another. There are many other good and even excellent free piano emulations in VST/AU. Here are some of the best:

All these products are excellent piano emulations and they all are free! I have chosen here acoustic piano emulations and also electric piano emulations and even a clavinet emulation.

My advice for everybody is now to forget Piano One, because there are other free great emulations and as long as his developer continues to ignore our recurrent problem with the installation of Piano One we can prove him that he is loosing many, many, many customers.

Is there someone who has downloaded the "Piano set" for the last update of piano one (neo piano mini)?? It's almost a month that it's unavailable.

Hi everybody, .

I've just got a .dll and a .pdf files...

I'm afraid I can't test it, because I can't succeed in getting any free soundfile... It's obvious that a company show first their payable products, but even after looking for a free sound till the end I don't find anything. Is there a technical problem ? Is it really free ? The French guy that I am miss something ? ^^.

Thanks in advance, have a good day.

For this plug going right you need to have of course the dll but also a file named "Piano One.mse", wich contains the sound itself... But I remember having troubles finding it a few weeks ago. (I forgot where I finally got it). Have a good day.

Confusing, on YT I see a nice demo of Piano One. When I go to their site, they send me here to download, and instead of Piano One the download gives Neo_piano_mini, thats dóes react to my MIDI-keyboard, but doesn't give any sound in Ableton. The site then isn't clear, talks about piano sets you need*). Well, they try to lure me into buying they say. Will I pay over a hundred dollars to a site that doesn't work, with a demo that doesn't work where dozens of free VST dó work? Guess what?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9C_z7mt4oM.

(at about 21:15)

*) I start to think that this plug in is meant to have no sound, you have to buy the sound, this is only the keyboard interface.

Sorry for the stupid question but why I only see the mac and the 32-bit version available for download? Where is the 64-bit version?

Thanks.

I have downloaded a Piano One from Softpedia, and another from VST4free, and they both do the same thing: they play, but they sound chopped up, like half of the sound is missing. I have hosted the VST on Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe for Windows XP, which I admit is maybe a little old and not really top of the line, so I'm wondering if you're supposed to have something more proper, something like Cubase, for example.

Hello I have just installed piano one.. and for some reason its not making any sound in the latest version of Logic X.. I don't know why this is not working? Do I need piano sets or something? Does it not get installed with the installer that was provided above? Please HELP would love to be able to see how good this sampling engine is..

Thank you for this beautiful free piano, its different with neo player, and much better then older versions of piano one. I have lots of expensive samples piano vsts including Ivory American concert D, Ravenscroft 275, VSL Vienna imperial, and lots of others, Personally, I play only Vienna and love to play this free piano. I will order very soon Steinway Thor. This link http://www.supremepiano.com/download/Piano1.rar posted here is valid.

The Piano1.ins file does not load from within Reaper. It apparently is an InstallShield related file but does not work on my Windows 8 system. I'm envious but not likely to pursue this VST any further due to the numerous other install issues flagged here in the comments.

8 on 10 for this ???

First the interface is ugly.

Secondo, it is a heavy download, so i waited for the top free piano on the web.

Ishhh! It sound like to talk with a hand on the mouth.

And the sound interval between the Do 5 and the Si 4 is weird.

Tertio.....forget it for garageband.

ok ok a good thing.

Thank you to don't let me fill up an account, check account, validate account, newsletters, download lock key, etc for a free product.
