High sound quality - al little bit scientific, not self explanatory. While all guitars from Ample Sounds have a similar concept and you will get familiar with the interface with time for quite some time it felt not like a musical instrument but more like a computer's software. Like in those times you had to feed computers with a punch card first you can't simply play the notes but have to do some extra operations to make those notes sound well. To me personally, I found it hard to play and always needed a lot of editing later on the midi. But getting the "punch card part" right you can get a very realistic sound from it. Sometimes a bunch of sampled loops may be the better solution instead of tweaking a VST instrument a whole day to make it sound right. Or, even better, you spent the time learning to play the guitar yourself or even much more better, you save time and have a good friend playing yer guitar well. So - no matter how much science this is - it is already the best of all possible solutions if it is the one you have available (see: Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz who probably can explain better what I mean).

Beats me how you managed to try it. I tried to download twice and each time took 25 minutes and all I got was a 25MB corrupted/incomplete file. I'd probably have to spend the rest of my life trying to download the 6GB full product. Shame because it looked quite good on the Youtube movies.

You may want to redact your comment here, BW. Possibly as a result of updates since 2013, most of what you're claiming is simply not true.

1. All strings and notes are freely available, with not a single pop-up, at least on my free version.

2. Same goes for using the keyboard.

3. None of the controls seem disabled to me, except one; Capo. So I guess I'll give you that one.

4. I don't have a super advanced MIDI controller, but with the stuff I tried, every MIDI learn settings was saved in my session, and recalled, and applied.

5. What kind of preset library exactly do you mean? It's meant to model one specific kind of acoustic guitar. If you want to try the other guitar/bass types they offer, you can download 7 day trials off their site.

So yeah.. It really is a full product by now, although obviously it's still meant to be an "advertisement" for their other guitar models.

Don't get me wrong, I like Spicy Guitar and Revitar, too. But they never sounds very real, do they?
