Flanger by Blue Cat Audio is a Virtual Effect Audio Plugin for macOS and Windows. It functions as a VST Plugin, an Audio Units Plugin, a VST 3 Plugin and an AAX Plugin.
The flanger was always known to me as that weeoh!oheew! sound and that is still largely what I use it for. I find most of the things you can do with this plugin highly circumstantial excep for the classic slow, shallow flange. The sound is generally very good: I have used it with quite some success on drums and high pads. But if the sound is too deep the effect goes all alien and supafreeky-deeky. The interface was confusing when I first got it but now I have come to understand what each pretty little slider does, although the little yellow gray/red gray button is still a mystery. I think it switches the channels but I haven't been able to tell. The features are great but highly cirumstantial. It takes a little time alone with the bright orange skin before all those commitment issues get sorted out and the effect shines. I'm almost glad that there is no documentation. I have a better understanding learning by myself of what the plugin can do. The presets are a great help in this. Every basic effect is there. I have seen an email but the chances are that you'll never need to email about any difficulties because of the frequent updates and the rocksolid stability. Great effect for free Summary UI Confusing at first, powerful upon comprehension. Sound Highly circumstantial, takes a while to get it right. Great quality. Features The presets are just a glimpse of what to do with this plugin. Docs Could have been nice. Presets Great to explain how it works, but some are a little unfunctional as effects. Customer Support Unnecessary with all the attention devoted to it. Value Great effect for free. I would be willing to pay for this one. Stability Never had a problem with stability.Read Review
