Contra

Contra has been designed to give you back the use of your greatest tool for making decisions when mixing, your ears. Contra has been developed to allow you to compare your favourite plugins against each other, without the distraction of following the cursor around the screen, to check that the right mute or un-mute has been clicked on. Contra automatically cycles through your chosen plugins allowing you to take your hands away from the keyboard and/or mouse; and just listen; with its' internal auto gain matching capability you will never have to fear your ears favouring the louder of the comparisons, as is natural even at a 0.5dB difference, resulting in unbiased accurate comparisons.

Contra offers up to 8 slots for loading 3rd party AU, VST or VST3 plugins to be compared, with access to the each plugins interface and parameters, as well as the ability to turn the plugins off during the comparison process, so you can narrow down the choices to final selection with ease. An option to select the number of bars over which each plugin is audible, allows like for like comparisons to be made over the same piece of music and with a bit of clever setup Contra can be used to compare compressors on different tracks, e.g. kick and bass, or setup inline to compare how a vintage compressor sounds with different vintage EQs. With it's automated operation the user can sit back and now have a multiple of options compared in a very short time and without effort and distraction of watching where you are clicking and losing listening focus on the differences. Result? Better mixes in a shorter time.

Contra setups can be stored, including the parameter settings for the loaded plugins as a preset, to be recalled at any time, allowing you to start a session and load up your favourite compressors for kick drums, EQs for snares, reverbs and/or delays for vocals, extend it across the entire mix and you have a more efficient workflow, in which you are making the right decisions for the track from the start.
