There's something about the Rhodes piano sound that hits me where no other instrument can. It's adjacent to the spot where the guitar hits me. Elektrik Piano is one of the best virtual instruments I've heard. I was mulling over the thought of purchasing a Rhodes sample set for about $100. It occurred to me that E.P. is a much better value. For about $50 more you get FOUR electric piano sample sets (Rhodes MkI & MkII, Clavinet, and Wurlitzer). There is a cool "vintage" UI, or you can easily load up the sounds in Kontakt if desired. The thing I like the best is that the Rhodes comes very close to the "touch" of an actual instrument (inasfar as that's possible). Higher velocities bring out that grit, which I adore. Hit the Wurlitzer and you'll be having Breakfast in America. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, and it's pretty stable. The DFD extension makes it fairly economical on CPU as well. I haven't had to use tech support for it yet, but I have other NI products so I have used NI tech support. Not the fastest response time, but they always come through. Yes, it is a one-trick pony. But what's wrong with that? You want some great electric pianos? Look no further. All in all it's an excellent value for the money.

I love the sound of the Fender rhodes so when i heard Native instruments were making a VST version i was very interested.Like atmosphere and trilogy which i also own this piece of kit is a rompler so when it comes to sound it sounds like the real thing because it was sampled from the real thing (Fender rhodes Mk 1 & Mk 2 , Hohner Clavinet E7tm , Wurlitzer A 200TM)It comes with a 2 Gig sound library with 89 presets of the fore mentioned 4 electric pianos.

As always with this newer software installing is a pain in the arse as you have to register with native instruments who give you a code to get the thing working ,once you are accepted as a member of native instruments you then have to download a small program (DFD) to allow Elektrik piano to read the sound library from your hardrive.

Once up and running its very simple and easy to use (im using cubase sx 2.0 as my host)The effects are simple but effective Reverb, phaser, delay, bass, treble ,Nothing taxing on the brain compared to your average synth.
As with most NI softsynths it works in standalone or with a host.

To round it up i have plenty vst emulations of Fender rhodes which sound cool Lounge lizard etc , But this baby don't emulate this is the "REAL DEAL".Its made by native instruments which is a stamp of quality in my books, If your a fan of the Rhodes sound then BUY IT its the best outhere!! Zero7 here i come.......
