Entity is a musical synth, and the preset sounds provided demonstrate this well. A wide range of sounds, with unique and distinctive edge are provided which lead you into the world of editing this versatile synth. An array of different waves and synthesis types are provided in a modular type architecture. The bewildering amount of filters and effects are outlined in more detail here http://www.nusofting.liqihsynth.com/entity.html and i would recommend this synth if you are looking for something a little different in your sounds.

Physical modelling, subtractive synthesis, oscillator shape and extensive LFO's and modulators make this a quick, fun thing to edit once you get the hang of the GUI, which is fairly self-explanatory once you figure out the tab thing on the left to edit the sound :) modules are added and removed in a master section at the top with a total of 3 oscillators, 3 filters and 3 LFOs for each sound. Exploring the many types of modules makes this a synth with many possibilities and its one that just seems to come out with sounds you want to play.

I've just recorded a demo on Entity, the new great NUSofting VSTi synthesizer. Entity is a semi-modular soft synth designed and produced in collaboration with Sonic Timeworks' DSP master.

Entity offers a large collection of sounds that inspire a mood, unconventional sounds and therefore can inspire new composition ideas.

The small demo that I've recorded is the result of an improvisation following the feeling that some Entity sounds gave me.

Finding for the right sound is also a great feature (patch browser) and the editing a sound is just matter of few seconds.

Check it out!

All the best,

Entity ,a 'distant separate existence', Nusoftings newest creation
is just like the meaning of the word , soundwise it combines
extensive subtractive synthesis with added physical modelling of both wind
and pick types.

Gui in v1.0 is pretty basic ,it has a clean layout though with
the signal routing from top (starting with the oscillator bank)
to bottom (fx output) in a racktype format, modules in the rack are
3 oscillators , 3 filters , 3 dedicated envs generators, 3 lfo's
and mod matrixes.

While the signal flow is basically prewired it has
all the routings wich are useful , its in the modulation matrix where
free patching of 13 sources and a multitude of destinations are possible.

Strengths of the plugin are the ability to have both serial and parallel
filtering with fourteen filtertypes , these sound very good indeed
and range from vintage 12db emulations to distorted modern and comb filtering, as each of the 3 filters can have seperate modulators (example lfo1 with a keyboard tracked rate, or looped modulation enveloppe acting as a complex lfo )it is possible to create a lot of movement to the sound and also the great fx output section tops this of nicely.

Special mention also diserve the oscillator section wich have stacked
mode like multisaw with spread function , this makes both smooth trancepads possible and when bandpassed filtered they sound remarkebly vintage stringensemble-like. Every waveform also has a shaper when modulated can
sound very edgy and cutting.

Overall the sound has a rich swirling character , and thanks to the extensive modulation it can take on many different characters, it can
be any entity waiting to be explored.

+ swirling ,flexible sound
+ easy to use
+ great for pads, flutey, rezzy breathy types
