Frostbite is a spectral freezing plugin combined with a Ring Modulator and a Feedback module. With the three freezing modes (spectral, reverb, convolution), you can transform any sound into ambient textures, soundscapes, or just frozen reverbs.

Frostbite can also be used for extreme sonic experiments by entirely mangling any source with extreme modulations.

The Signal Flow is flexible, you can rearrange the modules with a simple drag-and-drop, and selects between the two modes: serial and parallel.

Specifications:

  • Freeze (Spectral, Reverb, Convolution).
  • Ring Modulator.
  • Feedback.
  • Flexible Routing (Drag and Drop).
  • 1 LFO with multiple destinations.
  • 70+ Presets.
  • Resizable Window.
  • Preset system with randomizer.

This is the most favorite multi FX plugin in my folder right now. I really falled in love with version 1, but this one is much more powerful, with more features and it is also more CPU friendly (my PC needs only 3-4%, while Frostbite1 6-9%). Now I can only drag and drop each tab to change a signal flow which is quite handy and it's much better than it was in previous version and as a bonus there is resizable GUI. The only thing I don't know how to disable is "Bell" (notification) icon on top right corner, telling me whats new on AudioThing website. Frostbite2 is really cool plugin and it's must have for everybody - you can put it on drums, pluck sounds, pads... and it always sounds amazing! I will never regret purchase of this plugin.

I've only just started to mess with this, but I already love it and can tell this is going to get a lot of use, especially in my sound design-focused sessions.

Even if the only trick it did was the "long reverb," it might be worth the asking price. Basically it just takes the most intense part of a reverb and holds it for a specified amount of time, up to 25 seconds. Very awesome. Obviously, one can use automation of reverb/volume to achieve somewhat similar effects, but this does it 1) much more easily and 2) in a much different sounding way. A way that freezes the sound and just repeats it, but with no audible looping artefacts. I used to spend a lot of time in an audio editor to get effects that I'm getting with this with just a few dial tweak.

It also has the ability to severely transform the input sound. The "bowed metal" preset makes everything sound like, well, bowed metal. Very cool effect with which to create some icy soundscapes. For real, if you're into any genre where you like to create a spacy / barren / cold soundscape, you want this plugin.

One idea for improvement: allow users to type in values, or at a minimum, allow for fine-grain tuning by holding SHIFT.

Hi friends!

This is on sale for just 8€ for the next nine days (POSTED: March 10, 2019).

I've wanted to buy this for a while, but always thought "I have plenty of effects similar to this. Do I really need to drop 35€ for another one?"

Until TODAY! As soon as I saw the price– ONLY 8€- I jumped right on it!
