Important Note
In order to use VSTi instruments in Windows, one currently has to use virtual MIDI cables such as LoopMidi and run instrument in a separate host. Same goes for Linux and OS X. This works well. However, native VSTi support is in development.GPL
Radium is a free (as in speech) music editor with a novel interface. It's inspired by trackers, but has fewer limitations and uses graphics to show musical data.
The development of Radium started in 1999.
