Revitar 2 is a guitar synthesizer and can produce a wide variety of guitar sounds and playing styles. To achieve added realism and playing flexibility, Revitar employs unique guitar pick, string and body simulations. No samples are used in the entire process, so no two notes ever sound the same.

Features:

  • Unique string and body simulation.
  • Adjustable pick shape.
  • 48 programmable chords, using absolute and relative positions.
  • Different playing styles - slides, hammer on / pull offs, chords, single string.
  • 6 guitar body types to choose from.
  • Fully programmable MIDI control of all knobs and sliders.
  • Intuitive user interface.

Well I picked this up quick for free with HUGE expectations I would drop it just as quick because most guitar "synths" tend to suck IMO. I am rather surprised and happy with this little plugin... for the size it actually blows my mind.

Does it sound like a real guitar? Not really, but it has the "airy-ness" and "gentle-ness" of a nice acoustic guitar. Run it through some effects and it really shines.

The sample quality could be better... Unless your a super high quality snob, you might find this to be a useful little guitar/string tool in your arsenal.

Worth a solid try, but will not replace a good guitar or pro-quality guitar sampler.

It is a CPU hog, two instances 40% CPU... ouch!

Thank you for making this free!

As I am not a guitar player I was looking for a nice guitar synth.
After trying out various others I was greatly impressed by the realistic sound (and unrealistic if you want it to!) that Revitar 2 produced.
It has a simple intuitive user interface, it produces nice clean sounds.
It's easily amped through other plugins such as Amplitube or Guitar Rig etc
It's primarilly an acoustic guitar synth, though it has a few 'electric' presets. Personally i like the acoustic sound when pumped through an amp making it..err 'Acoustic Electric?' Either way it sounds excellent.
The author of the plugin seems a pretty cool guy from the few email conversations and I predict he'd answer any problems if you had any (I did not have any)
The short manual that comes in PDF format contains everything you need to know, though granted, it could be a little easier to read it's still all there.
Had no problems whatsoever with stability and it has a good set of presets with it.
I use it extensively in my music now :D

Revitar 1 was my first commercial vst purchase. I was looking for a quality plucked string emulation. I was not disappointed. Having demoed everything in this area I found nothing that compared to the sound. Until....

Version 2, picks up where 1 left off, offering new flexibility in tone, and there by some great new presets.
All while retaining some core features and playability,
found in the original.
The chord feature is my favorite aspect of the plug. It offers a very convincing sound that one can easily build riffs with. At first I was left wanting a host tempo sync, option to dictate the chords speed, but I now think part of the features charm would be lost if were.

The interface- clean and explainitory.

The sound- Very high quality

The features- For a synth aimed at one goal, it is very flexible.

The documentation- Well, I just checked, while writing this, and it doese exist. (testimony to the ease of use)

The presets- Showcase the plugs features nicely and offer a nice starting point for creating your own noises.

The support- While I've had no technical issues with version 1 or 2, questions about beta testing and upgrades
were asked, and answered via e mail by Larry, the developer, who proved to b eone of the coolest people I've dealt with since becoming consumed by the world of musical software.

The value- the asking price is very fair for the quality of sound you get.

The stabilty- I have yet to see a problem.

all in all, I'd say Revitar 2 is a great purchase.

This thing SO absolutely rules. Its astounding that he got everything this does into TWO MEGS! Unfortunately its crashy, at least on my MPC DAW, but its so awesome that I just have to work around that. Who is this guy? Why made this, this kind of accomplishment is unusual.
