this is my favorite vst of all time. the sound is so analogue to my ears. i'm reminded of Boards of Canada or Aphex whenever i use this. i am totally in love. i have used many Comodore 64 emulation synths, both free and not, and this one beats them all!

Interface? beautiful. everything is right where i want it. it is very easy to tweak and get the sounds you want. and it has the classic look of 64. even better, in my opinion.

Sound? amazing. i can get glitchy effects/noises, rhythmic whispers and riffs, apeggiated goodness, fat basslines, and drifting analogue pads. in a mix, it stands out.. but not too much so that it takes away from the other instruments.

Features? numerous. while it won't cough up EVERY sound in the sound spectrum, it does more than just emulate a Com 64. with an arp, 6/8/16-bit sound quality, and even individual volume/detune/pulsewidth/ADSR for each of the 3 OSCs, this baby's sound palette is practically unlimited.

Documentation? complete. and while there is plenty of information on how to use this synth, i have never needed to peruse it even once because it is so simple to figure out.

Presets? incredible. a wide variety of awesome presets are packaged with this little 64 beast. basses, sound fx, rhythms, pads - 128 presets is more than enough to get you on your way.

Customer Support? fantastic. i have never needed any support for this, but de la Mancha is commonly found in the KVR forums, and he is a very personable developer. i'm sure if you have any issues with it, he will be more than happy to help.

Value for Money? free. need i say more?

Stability? solid. never had any stability issues in FL Studio 7 on my Intel Celeron PC. this baby is a powerhouse!

So in conclusion: download the basic 64. it's free. it's quality. it's the best free vst out there.
