This VSTi gave me a whole new arsenal for rhythmic backgrounds to rhythm sections and melodies. Although ostensibly a guitar pattern instrument, I used it to play keyboard parts that were rhythmic...I was even ablre to put an entire percussive-sounding keyboard solo together by using patterns from the libraries that come with it.

The standard libraries are basic but OK, a good starting point. Pretty soon you will find yourself wanting to buy additional libraries of rhythm patterns - these cost US$19 each and take RnC's variety even further. The creators are also generous - they will give you free libraries for constructive feedback.

It's not an "instrument" as such. You can actually audition patterns with any VSTi with RnC. When you have what you want, you save as MIDI and bingo, you have your rhythm guitars/keyboards. There are some good picking patterns to go with the strummed patterns.

I also liked the way they let you define the chord on any given beat. Any chord is possible. You can even add/subtract individual notes within the chord at any given point in the song. RnC is VERY flexible.

Overall very impressed. At US$99, this is good value for money. The program was originally dseveloped for Cakewalk/SONAR, so is not new and buggy. I use it with Cubase without any hassles. It doesn't appear to be a huge CPU hog, but will send it up a notch.

PS: I don't work for the company, just a satisfied customer.
