Ultimate Sound Bank Plugsound Free

OK, firstly let me say that PS Free has the best Acoustic Spanish Guitar preset of any sampler, rompler or synth that I've heard. It's so good it inspired me to create a song around it, using only the sounds in PS Free. I sent the mp3 to USB, so hopefully they'll post it on their site.

Now onto the rest of the plugin: clean filters, excellent CPU usage (I managed about 11 instances at once on a P4 2.2Ghz before the PC gave up), choice of 16 or 32 bit internal sample rates, built in FX and a nice simple to use interface.

A lot of the presets have superb EQ and effects already applied, plus intelligent panning and instrument placement. Nice rhodes pianos, a cool jazz drumkit, ambient percussion, a clever harmonica, and some ok string patches.

To be honest, you could easily create quite a few songs with just this plug-in and nothing else, except maybe a little reverb and compression (plenty of those around for free).

All in all, for a *free* plugin, this is the way software should be sold to computer musicians. Release an uncrippled free version of their software, with a no-holds barred selection of their nicest patches, not the crap ones. Well done USB! I for one will be making a purchase based on this.

Negatives? Non really, other than 29 sounds is a little small, but then again, it's free. There's no documentation, but none is needed, except maybe an explanation of the use of the interface and filters etc.
