AudioRealism AudioRealism Bass Line (ABL)
Only reason for not giving 10 points for all parts, was that it wouldn´t be as believable. Most important thing in 303 emulations is how close it can come -nothing else matters. And Audiorealism is more than close, is as exact as any digital thing can be heard.
It´s like comparing 192kbps mp3 file and same track from cd. Most of us don´t recognise difference even with 128kbps and CD! :D
I didn't like that KVR's review... Why to compare this to Freebee if this is written totally from scratch? Freebee was TB-303 clone and so is this. There were many other clones too.. This just happens to be the best.
''Bass Line is kind of a new version of Freebee, the free stand alone 303 emulation, although the engine has been rewritten from scratch and features an improved filter and control signal model.''
One thing i miss for this. That would be 'batteries-voltage-going-too-low-mode'! :D Also some sort of misfunction could be simulated too.. - like some broken capacitors or other components inside of the TB-303, and how they would affect to the sound of it.
One thing i don't like in this: those added distortion effects -everybody are using external plugins for effects.. i have usually vintage warmer, and good quality reverb. Maybe adding some bandpass delay with high feedback from time to time, i mean in breaks where drums have dropped out.. Anyway, my point was that there is better effects available, and because TB-303 didnt have distortion, that means that more features -less exact copy of the original. ;)
Acieed Maan.. ..zzZ. Sorry about confusing post -going to astral dimension now for few hours.. . peace åut!
BTW. There might be some ABL sounds here; http://a33e.dy.fi - New Oldschool Acid House But most are BUZZ´s native Oomek Agressor (303 clone) trax. Try to listen which is which! |
