Nomad Factory Blue Tubes Series
These plugins are absolutely awesome. They are a bunch of plugins geared at bringing back that 'old vintage' sound. By old vintage, I don't really mean that, I mean seriously high fidelity expensive sound.
The most useful and important products in this bundle are the compressors. The best compressors on the market are thought to be the Waves compressors. These, in my opinion, are better. They are more subtle and more musical, with a smoothness and richness that I can't quite believe is an emulation. They are CLASS.
All the other plugins are brilliant too. The waves de-esser is probably better than the one included here, but this isnt so important. The different in price/value is phenomenal.
A word of mention. THERE ARE NO PRESETS, much like their hardware counterparts. If you rely on presets to get started, you'll be starting from scratch here. It's been good for me because I've really learnt over time how to actually use a compressor and various other effects, rather than just dial up the 'ultramaximise' preset. In a matter of speaking this apparent falacy has been a positive blessing because my production has improved infinitely now that every move I make is deliberate. For this reason I will give the presets section 10/10, even though there are none, that is the point.
So, what these will do for you: The plugins are NOT recommended to do britney spears stuff etc; you want the waves ones for that in your face, harsh digital sound These plugins are recommended if you're trying to recreate Dark Side of the Moon in your bedroom or studio. They offer a smoothness, fidelity and character that is ever present on that album.
Comparisons.... also use/used T-Racks, Izotope Ozone, and loads of others. Now I'm settled.
Oh, very very low CPU usage too.
All in all, serious bit of kit; fantastic value for me, might just be most of the plugins you'll ever need, and you'll be searching your motherboard for valves its that good. 11/10. |
