I love this 303 emulation. It nearly captures the bite and grittiness of the original that everything else i have experienced has lacked.
The basic waveforms of the original TB-303 always possessed something different and very special in it's basslines and this has worked really well in replicating that.
I personally don't use the Pattern Sequence thing, but you could if you wanted and it works well and sounds very like the original.
I use for Electro music, it offers instant inspiration.
Not very good for general synth use, but you will come back to it very often if you are into that kind of thing.
Excellent purchase, looking into getting Pro for that those extra synthesis options.
Sounds great when paired with your TR-808 or TR-909 samples and you're away creating the great retro sound that you'll remember from years back.
The main selling point of this is the sound and it is the best emulation I have yet had the pleasure to experience.
I use this more or less on its own and it still cuts through the mix. Just like the original!

Great value for money and works really well when used as Ableton Clips.
Extremely stable and great to use if set on loop for Live. Best emulation I've seen.

Hello,

I use the AudioRealism BassLine2 many months. This is the best TB-303 Clone. It is simple to programming for a great ACID-Sound. So if you need a 303 in your productions, the Basslinis VSTi is a very good investment!

You can use knobs Events very easily in host (FL-Studio,Cubase....). Programming the Pattern goes on different wise. Everyone is very simple. (Step by Step or 303 Style programming mode). You can import old ReBirth RB-338 and PH-Files (d16.pl). Preferences dialog for easier setup and great Sound.

The GUI is very simple for beginner and profis. The Sound are is great. (Little difference Hardware). The distortion effect on
the Bassline is also great. It's filters are very well simulated.

The Documentation are ok. Customer Support great. Mike answer questions fast. The Presets - WOW! Stability - Reliable!! Period!

My favorit project for AudioRealism BassLine2 is my website. You can
found many Pattern for AudioRealism Products and more! www.happytb303.com

Bye
Erik

GUI - Simple and effective. All the knobs are where they should be and spreaded out thoughtfully.

Sound - If I was to blind test you with the real thing and this vst you would no be able to tell the difference!!!! Spot on!

Features - Everything you expect a 303 to do is there! However this thing does not stop there. the midi capabiliies to this are clever and the patterns just leave you in awe! Best thing is he famous pattern section. Sounds like the real songs!

Documentation - Everything you need to know is there and explained logically

Presets - Who needs them this is a 303!lol

Customer Support - Can't say never had to use it. Mike however does answer questions swiftly.

Value - Lets see about $3000 for the real thing or about $100 for something that sounds 99% like it! To be honest I felt like I ripped Mike off!lol

Stability - Reliable!! Period!

What can I say. This is one of the greatest 303 emulators out there!Wet, Juicy, fat, squelchy however you perfer that 303 to sound this thing does it with precision! The filters couldn't be anymore exact. The accents an decay are just about identical to the real thing. Every little detail and overtones are amazingly realisic!!Funny, I think Mike snuck in the Roland factory and stole the schematics!!!!

Only reason for not giving 10 points for all parts, was that it wouldn´t be as believable.
Most important thing in 303 emulations is how close it can come -nothing else matters.
And Audiorealism is more than close, is as exact as any digital thing can be heard.

It´s like comparing 192kbps mp3 file and same track from cd. Most of us don´t recognise difference even with 128kbps and CD! :D

I didn't like that KVR's review... Why to compare this to Freebee if this is written totally from scratch?
Freebee was TB-303 clone and so is this. There were many other clones too.. This just happens to be the best.

''Bass Line is kind of a new version of Freebee, the free stand alone 303 emulation, although the engine has been rewritten from scratch and features an improved filter and control signal model.''

One thing i miss for this. That would be 'batteries-voltage-going-too-low-mode'! :D
Also some sort of misfunction could be simulated too.. - like some broken capacitors or other components inside of the TB-303, and how they would affect to the sound of it.

One thing i don't like in this: those added distortion effects -everybody are using external plugins for effects.. i have usually vintage warmer, and good quality reverb.
Maybe adding some bandpass delay with high feedback from time to time, i mean in breaks where drums have dropped out..
Anyway, my point was that there is better effects available, and because TB-303 didnt have distortion, that means that more features -less exact copy of the original. ;)

Acieed Maan.. ..zzZ. Sorry about confusing post -going to astral dimension now for few hours.. . peace åut!

BTW. There might be some ABL sounds here;
http://a33e.dy.fi - New Oldschool Acid House
But most are BUZZ´s native Oomek Agressor (303 clone) trax. Try to listen which is which!

I have dozens of virtual 303-emulations and this is simply the best one. I listened to acid house a lot in the eighties and was always searching for that clean acid-sound. I want an emulation to sound exact as the 303. Most emulations do well, but have a flaw at some point, where it just doesn't sound as a 303. Not ABL, I think I can state it sounds better than Rebirth.

With ABL, all characteristics are very well emulated, thes ound and the sequencer, slides and accents. Just listen to all the audiodemo's of users on audiorealism.se. I bought ABL after listening to that and I never regretted.

The user interface is nice and operates just like Rebirth. I think that a second skin with a easier way to program patterns would be welcome and Mike is working on that.

Features: Well it is a one trick pony and therefor it rocks! I don't want an emulation which 'sounds even broader than a 303', cause that's mostley a way to describe an emulation which is not accurate.

I really like the feature of triggering patterns with your midi-keyboard. Automation of the synth works fine and is great with a good midi-controller.

Documentation: The pdf manual explains all in detail.

Presets: there are no presets, but I don't need any.

Customer support: It's good until now. Mike's answering questions rapidly on his forum, though there are not many, cause he delivered a very stable product.

Value for money: It may look expensive for a software 303 emulation, but if you want it to be good, it's worth every penny..

Stability: Rock-steady. Never had a single problem.

The only thing I miss is the ability to automate the sequencer. But I guess Mike is working on that to..

All in all the definte 303-emulation, imo.

The tb-303 from Roland is one of those machines that was initially a synth that was close to useless. It was meant as a substitute for a bassguitar player in a band. But then, one day, someone got funky with the 303 and abused its knobs and made this weird squeeky noise. We all know what happened next. The 303 became a cult synth, and can be heard in many, many dancemusic productions.

The Bassline synth from AudioRealism manages to capture the typical sound of the 303. Its filters are very well simulated. Just listen to the demotracks hosted by AudioRealism and the comparisons made with a real 303. It just can't get any closer than this. I never heard even a hardware synth come this close, apart from the orignal TB-303 that is;)

The editing of the Bassline is similar to the editing of Rebirth. They could have chosen a more accessible interface to make the patterns, but IMHO this method keeps the nostalgic feeling alive. The number of patterns that can be made is also great. You can set 256 patterns which should be more than enough.

The distortion effect on the Bassline is also great.

So if you need a 303 in your productions, the Basslinis VSTi is a very good investment!
