Can a VSTi have more than 16 midi inputs?

Yes, im right. I tryed it again in my computer. I use GPO, and is normal to use 4 instances or MORE. So i need 1GB for samples and 1GB for the sampler!
Yes, SFZ is very nice, i use it a lot, you dont care about how many instances.

Well, my point was, if the standalone can manage 64 channels simultaneously, the VSTi could too. But, because the 16 channels limit, im wasting lots of RAM unnecesarely. I will try to ask in the kontakt forums if there is a way to share the ram use.

Hi, I'm currently working on a vst-midi plug and a ksp script that breaks the 16 channel barrier. It probably will be limited to 8*16 channels (could be more though).
It also allows to send 16 channel information to a single instrument using a single channel in k2, + a few goodies like aftertouch, sysex, note off value to other ksp scripts.
