First the easy ones :pdxindy wrote:There is the joystick that has bend up and down and modwheel to the left... aftertouch is to the right... should say AT I think... not Exp which I would assume is the expression pedal. There are also 2 dedicated EXPR modulators in the modulation section. Those are also AT... I also think those should say AT or Pressure or something. EXPR again sounds like expression pedal.Lotuzia wrote:Welcome back and thanks for trying it Pdxindypdxindy wrote:oh cool... a new XILS synth without a dongle... Is there midi learn?
Also, If I have unison set to 4 and global voices set to 6, 2 notes will play... does one play unison 4 and the other 2? Or does each do 3?
I think I have the grid fairly figured out... but what exactly is happening when I click env2 on the grid page?
Oxium with no notes is using 30% cpu... in Live on OSX 10.6.8... a new instance does not do this but I do not want to delete this instance yet cause I will lose the sound I have at the moment...
Here is a quick example
http://draigathar.org/sounds/Oxium1.mp3
1/ Midi learn : for all parameters : Just click on the "open midi settings panel" to display it. Then assign parameters.
2/ Expression : Actually represent the sum of : Mono & Poly aftertouch + Breathcontroler. We did this as we have some users who use breath Midi controlers such as the Akai ones at Xils. So they dont have to repatch each preset to benefit of the modulations assigned to it. As I use a regular Keyboard and an expression pedal, I just map the breath controler to the midi cc4 with my host, so I can get the modulations tied to Expression either with the foot pedal, either with the Monophonic Aftertouch. For those who are lucky enough to have a keyboard that sends polyphonic aftertouch, Oxium reacts to Polyaftertouch also.
3/ For Live, and also MuLab, some users get some GUI issues, while most don't, depending eventually on OS/Versions/etc. We will investigate this. Sorry for that and thanks for the report.
4/ Unisson it depends on the Play mode, if you're on Poly Reset, you will have 4 + 2, in other modes it will vary according to the mode, and you're likely to get combinations of 4+2, 3+3, and more odd things if you play three notes chords, etc. It can lead to some happy accidents and interesting things, though of course the best is probably to set the polyphony to a multiple of the Unisson number of voices to get consistant playing.
5/ Le Masque/ Grid : When you click on the Env(elope)2 (ie filter envelope) on the Grid page the envelope 2 will be retrigered by each Mask LEFT locator. This can lead to very interesting stuff, and you can combine it with the looping possibilities of the env2 to get some really complex stuff.
6/ The sound : Nice one. If you want to retrieve it, you can take some a few caps. Not ideal, just a turnaround.
