The garbled sound of the "Say Again" patch also happens to me in SONAR Platinum, with the .93 version, and regardless of ASIO buffer size. This wasn't an issue with the .92 version. Loading any other patch "fixes" the issue, so I'm in no hurry for a proper fix. Taking care of your family is more important than anything any of us is asking for here. I appreciate all the work you've done on this!asb2m10 wrote:Yes/No, I have sick member in the family that I have to take care of, my 'free time' is very limited, and my Windows machine will have to be updated. I will work on it once this is done.sfxsound3 wrote:Are you still working on Dexed?asb2m10 wrote:What midi interface are you using ? This DSP noise is very strange, do you have the same issue with http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm ? What is your ASIO configuration; it might be related to the buffer size...overhishead wrote:Here's an audio sample of Dexed preset "Say Again"

I loaded Dexed while the project was playing. Maybe that has something to do with it, but I do that all the time and no other plugin struggles with that. Just a thought.
edit: is there a panic button on Dexed? I just got some wicked hung MIDI notes in Reaper. tried bypassing and re-engaging Dexed and the notes stayed blaring away. Probably the DAW's fault.

Dexed 0.9.4b1 works fine standalone under Win7 x86 and also in Reaper x86.

I think it would be good to put some smaller buffer to decrease the latency in the standalone version. Thank you very much for your great work with Dexed.

Thank you very much to all the people behind this! I'm learning FM synthesis and this free tool is very useful when your budget is limited and you can't afford a real DX7 or the VST from Arturia...

The MIDI Out Port cannot be accessed by Dexed and the DAW at the same time. This is why Dexed should be able to pass MIDI messages to the DX7 over the same port set up to transmit .syx.
Then add a toggle switch to select between triggering the Dexed's internal synth and triggering the DX7.

This is determined by JUCE (the framework that dexed is built upon). These values are not hardcoded, they are based on computer configuration.Iu Gob wrote:I think it would be good to put some smaller buffer to decrease the latency in the standalone version. PS: I come from a generation where 20ms latency were impressive (we are talking about the 90') I'm surprised that 3ms latency is not enough... ?

Thanks for answering. I also come from that time, dear friend. Playing the standalone version set to "3 ms" the latency of the sound I have the impression that it is much larger than "3 ms".asb2m10 wrote: PS: I come from a generation where 20ms latency were impressive (we are talking about the 90') I'm surprised that 3ms latency is not enough... ?

Sorry to hear that. Will you ever get back to making vst stuff in the future?FrettedSynth wrote:LOL, Yes after closing a business down in about 2010 I had to go back to work for others Yuck.Halonmusic wrote:Hi FrettedSynth. You are still around?FrettedSynth wrote:Thank you

This doesn't seem to install a 64 bit version (for Windows). Here is a small update to dexed, useful if you use it with a DX7...
