huh.
So weird a simple MIDI File Player in a plugin format doesn't exist. Bidule's would be great.
How much are you prepared to spend?
Can you make do with a syncable standalone player?

Hoping to find something dedicated but it doesn't seem to exist. A modular is not out of the question but overkill price wise for plogue.
I might make one.
Midi pipe is free an has one can be used via iac, but really I want it in the plugin in order to call it up per patch in mainstage

Maybe I'm missing something but since you have a DAW to host a plugin why would u want a plugin to do that instead of having dragged the midi file on a Midi track
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.

DAW's are not the best plugin host to use for many live gigging situations. Apple's Mainstage and other similar hosts are much more suitable for a number of reasons, but often do not include a midi sequencer built in.

Herman Seib's VST host might be ideal for your purposes. It has a built in MIDI player and hosts VST's
and it's FREE:

no, not even close. I will use Mainstage on the mac. Thanks for the suggestions, but really what I need is a sequencer plugin, which does not appear to exist
