The biggest problem with Absynth is the aliasing.

I guess that the main reason that people don't talk about Absynth anymore is that Jordan da Pimp isn't extolling it's virtues for personal enrichment :)
Sorry - I don't use auto-tune....

I thought absynth was very useful it's a pity they didn't update the UI. I still have uses for it though. If they are going to dump it why not make it's core modules available on reaktor. That would be a good end

I doubt that they're in Reaktor, so they'd have to be primary modules and, I might be wrong, but I think that primary development on Reaktor is pretty much dead.

I don’t think we should completely blame NI for the lack of development and updates to Absynth. We should blame its creator Brian Clevinger for not getting the ball rolling.

Massive’s original creator Mike Daliot recently worked with NI to release Massive X after nearly ten years.
Should have taken 10.5 years, if they're unwilling to call it a pre-release :dog:

wink once for yes
twice for no.
Competition is fierce, with many brilliant and innovative rivals,
and more are on the way. But are the numbers of plugin buyers
also increasing?

NI, among others, either keeps up, or gets mopped up.
If your coding team suffers from stagnation, or a high turnover rate,
the mops are moving in. If MX was rushed out, it's either
a lack of money coming in, or somebody with lots of it
doesn't care about customers like they used to. :(

I think that there's some weird things going on inside NI with respect to how they manage development.
Could be a cash flow problem, and maintaining a lifestyle
isn't getting easier when competitors are advancing
despite not holding fire sales twice a year,
or having warehouse-clearing group-buys when the roof
or plumbing needs repairs.
Cheers

Look plenty of synths get released in a far more pre-mature state. Many synths don’t reach there full potential until they’ve had a few updates. In my opinion MX is production ready.

I demo before I buy, and don't demo without reading some experiences
suggesting hope. Even U-he betas and pre-releases work better.

Sure, MX will work fine for some people,
yet still be an excersize in frustration and futility for others,
leaving dissapointed customers and NI support staff holding the bag.
But they let the cat out of the bag early, and off it goes.
I reported my demo issues to the proper authorities.
Looking forward to some new versions. Glad you like it!

Really? I don't think there is any "convert to scala" unless you mean re-write something in it.
Hi, you quoted me incorrectly, I said "convert IN scala", not "convert TO scala". I meant you could export the gly file directly from Scala.

Disagree about the ease of writing .gly files - they look like some kind of RIFF file, can't be read/edited in a text editor (like tun or scl). Many of my scl files I wrote in a text editor. It's nice that it'll accept ratios though.

There would be no real point to writing a file outside Absynth if the goal is to write a tuning file.
I don't understand, there are many methods to generate tunings that Absynth doesn't have, so many reasons to want to write tuning externally.

Kind of out of date there, but your facts are kind of just off, again.
LOL, must be catching! :)

Also the argument per Kontakt failing to work here runs into the wall of other scripting isn't it, it isn't losing tunings in itself, and one is free to turn scripts off afaict.
OK, can you share the script you use to retune and explain how you're using it? Perhaps you've got a better method than I'm using, I'm certainly no Kontakt expert. Are you saying that your script retunes reliably in pretty much all circumstances?

It's impossible to write a microtuning script for Kontakt that retunes reliably in all circumstances, it cannot really account for any specific detunings other scripts might be doing (i.e. factory mono/glide/unison script).

Sure, it wouldn't hurt having better filters. Even so its still a go to for fantastic otherworldly sounds.
