I can see the standalone version becoming a useful performance environment, for example as a hybrid with hardware modules.
Indeed that is the case imho... :tu:

Do you all have any suggestions where a beginner to modular synthesis can start? Are there some tutorials, preferably video, that you recommend? I'm particularly into the West Coast sound if that matters.
Thanks!

Why is there a "DEPRECATED" version of the Dual Voltmeter? Should be removed I guess? :?

Hey all... we've had people ask about using Voltage Modular with hardware modular systems. I've done some experimenting and it turns out that routing CV's to ext hardware outs via the IO Panel totally works, provided you're using an audio interface that passes DC voltage (e.g. MOTU audio hardware or Expert Sleepers CV interface modules).

In this video I used our Mini Plug-In Host module to host the AU version of Expert Sleepers Silent Way. I was even able to route one of my synthesizers dot com oscillators back in via the sidechain input to use Silent Way's oscillator scaling/calibration feature (though it wasn't totally necessary), and I used my other audio interface input to route the hardware modular back into Voltage so I could route to a Voltage mixer module to combine it with a Voltage synth patch. Happy to report that it all worked!

Keep in mind that this isn't meant to be a really polished video, more like man-in-the-studio quickie demo. :)

Trying to figure out how to get a gate or trigger signal whenever an audiosignal goeas above a certain treshold. Ideas? I have the big Benard bundle, the big PSP and the Vult bundles and I'm hinestly starting to lose track of all the modules now... :hihi: :help:

You can also use a step sequencer like the Korg SQ-1 as I do, presumably an Arturia Beatstep
or something as well. Although, the SQ-1 wont go from Eurorack to VM, only the other way round.
You can clock sink though. I tend to use wogglebug as the main clock. It all works well, despite the
fact my modular has no midi interface at all.

Not in itself as it's a treshold for voltage and not volume, but I can use an envelope follower before it and tweak it into kind of going there - thanks for the tip. :)

That one strangely doens't show up if I search for "treshold", should be looked into :?

Im really eyeballing the PSP Classics Modular Collection bundle. Not really looking for using the modular setup to create synth patches just using these effects because I really really like the sound of PSP. Any of you guys used it a lot? Whats the feeling? Is it top notch and similar to other PSP plugs (sound-wise) or is it of a lesser quality?

Feels like a great bang for the buck if it stands up!

Yeah, since I started using Silent Way, I barely use my MIDI>CV module.

You and your ears are the best judges. Download a 7-day demo from the Cherry Audio website. Looking forward to hearing your verdict ;-)
