I bought a Yamaha montage the week before this new modx keyboard was announced. It has replaced falcon as my 'super synth'

I'd like to say Synthmaster or MPowerSynth but I really, really have to say that my super synth is Waldorf Rocket :D

It's just... Unbelievable what that tiny box is capable of.

Well, music is about self expression, after all, right? 8) Because in the final anaysis, when all is said & done, when the sidewalks are rolled up after sunset, then what do you really have left?

And I am not talking about assholes on the internet with big opinions...

I mean...what do ya really have left? :hihi:

There are no super synths, especially when it comes to soft synths. You can have better filters, but over the saw and square, is just complex wavetables, which can be replicated by most modern soft synths.

As was mentioned before, if you want it to sound good, export to an external overdrive guitar pedal (real hardware). A hardwsre grungy analog filter also helps. It's the difference between a song sounding like a live orchestra and an old nintendo song.

Delay and reverb can stay digital if they are dynamic/moving, such as 112db Mikron Reverb.

Circuit modelled soft synths are my starting point recommendation (FCPansion Cypher and Strobe, Beepstreet Dagger, etc).

What you think about Guitar Amp Sims like the ones from Brainworx? Will they do the tricks as well? If not, why (your opinion)?
