Hello colleagues

Im recently trying to get this piano sound using different methods but I can't seem to nail it
Can I get a little help here? it would be really appreciated

https://soundcloud.com/nordkeyboards/gr ... rd-piano-4

Also, for live situations what are your preferred settings? I use Addictive Keys because it's close to the sound im looking but if you can share your settings for Steinways D in live use it would help me a lot, learning my way through this haha

Blessings

Edit: Sorry for no being more clear but Im only trying to nail the piano sound. I hear its very warm and focused and im trying to get something like that, the pad part it's not necessarily what im looking. Thanks!

Just a guess, judging by the track name - it's a Grand piano and Pad sound layered together
(Sorry, I can't help you further, I'm not familiar with Addictive Keys).

It definitely sounds like two sounds layered together, a piano and a dark pad.

i can listen a piano with a lot of sustain, and a pad together(one octave down),with a Little bit of delay and more reverb

I play live at church. I use a VST host (Elements $20) and I would do any piano (I use 4front True Piano) and just eq the highs down and maybe lower the velocity levels lower on the midi. Then grab a decent pad synth (I prefer Zebra 2) and have the synth play a dark pad, filter the pad and make the attack really long and the sustain short.

Throw a decent reverb on the piano and just increase that, but I wouldn't put the reverb on the pad. This sound is mostly due to reverb.

Bitwig is my DAWs and UHe and Tracktion Synths are my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

play with low velocity

use a good grand piano patch with low pass filter
HW SYNTHS [KORG T2EX - AKAI AX80 - YAMAHA SY77 - ENSONIQ VFX]
HW MODULES [OBi M1000 - ROLAND MKS-50 - ROLAND JV880 - KURZ 1000PX]
SW [CHARLATAN - OBXD - OXE - ELEKTRO - MICROTERA - M1 - SURGE - RMiV]
DAW [ENERGY XT2/1U RACK WINXP / MAUDIO 1010LT PCI]

I'm thinking the pad part(s) aren't layered,
but on different tracks. After eq and filtering a piano
to taste, adding very subtle distortion or saturation
may help, followed by various reverb presets.

Some FM or EP piano type sounds, and accoustic bass
can be layered, with just enough volume to be heard
but not identified.

I tried layering various subtle organ, cello, bass clarinet,
pads etc, (using xpand!2 and SampleTank) which make
for some nice ambience, but are a bit too noticable
on just the high notes, to fit your example.
Which made me think separate tracks
are used in the example. But now I have some new
multis presets for future use. :)

If you have a solo piano track loaded in Audacity,
copy and paste it into a second track, zoom in on
the track til the individual dots appear, and offset
the second track by a few dots, (paste in a tiny
bit of selected silence at the start) this will fatten up
the sound, without altering the character too much.
The tracks two can then have different amplitudes
if desired, and if you get things you like,
export the blend, and import the new blend.
You can then start auditioning effects, using
'apply' and 'undo' a lot. You have the nice
Air Effects from AIEP3 which can be added to
the audacity list from it's Effects menu,
a little of the Tube Saturation can be quite nice
on various piano sounds.
Cheers
