thank you!
the "clip" button for clean sound is great
a small cosmetical issue...or "thing" with the "clip" switch:
the "clip" switch stays put when i change the view from normal to wide
putting it from the Output module to the Filter module (which becomes wider)
that's imho kind of irritating...

Good catch! This will be fixed in the next build.muki wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 5:49 pm thank you!

here is another one - an aftertouch issue:
the previous versions (1.0, 1.0.1) had the issue,
that aftertouch (aka channel pressure) not only propagated aftertouch
but also velocity (??!!??), which imho is wrong (reported it to PA)
both are distinctive, seperate controllers and should be treated as such
as with v1.1.0
now this has changed...or not...
first i was happy, that it has been solved, but then i noticed, that occassionally
again velocity is propagated through the MIDIInput aftertouch connection
first i thought randomly, but then i sawa pattern
it seems to be related with polyphony voicecount
here is a repeatable scenario:
1) insert a fresh instance of LION
2) reset to default
3) change filter (default LP12) cutoff to 80
3) change "MIDI Input" Amp to 100
4) connect "MIDI Input" A to Filter Cutoff in
5) change "Master ADSR" Release to 4 (2.5 is default)
6)
now play more or less fast 8 or more notes succeeding and COUNT the notes
and note: from the 5th note on the filter opens according to velocity played
(no aftertouch engaged)
wait untill the last note release has completely faded out
repeat 6) with the same result
wait again untill the last note release has completely faded out
now, hit the PANIC button
repeat 6 and notice that the filter opens with the first note played
more fun:
change polyphony to 8
repeat 6 with about 15 notes
notice that the filter opens (with velocity played) beginning with the 9th note
conclusion:
as soon as some kind of buffer/roundrobin mechanism starts,
i.e. polyphony voicecount has been filled up,
velocity gets transmitted through the aftertouch channel via the MidiInput module
imho this is not exactly an expected and desired behaviour
p.s.:
i double- and tripplechecked to ensure that i have NOT triggered any aftertouch from my keyboard (with midi monitor)
p.p.s.:
i tripplechecked it with various midi keyboards that do not transmit aftertouch
i.e.: are completely AT ignorant
same behaviour

I´ve never used a synth with a better randomization engine, congrats UA!
But why is it not possible to randomly generate patch structures? I mean, no matter how deep you randomize, no cable is ever changing its position. I would love if this was possible!

Many, many thanks for hearing us on the output clipper/shaper. I really appreciate the post-launch graft you guys are putting in here.

No problem! I got the whole Catalina notarization stuff almost completely automated now. I sent non-automated builds off to PA for testing this week.
After I finish automating the Catalina notarization, I'm adding lightweight installers to our automation process. Give me a few days to post the next public beta and it will be in a much more convenient form for testers.

Well done and thank you, Michael!
You're all over it like a lizard sunning himself on a rock, mate.

I would love to have the possibility to adjust the per-note pitch bend too, or even better, to allow to use also the x-axis for other modulations then pitch. I have a Polyend Medusa, and even when I scale down the x-range to the minimal value, it's still hard to play in tune.

LION 1.1.1 Beta is now available: https://unfilteredaudio.com/pages/beta
-Dynamic horizontal resizing.
-Shift+Scroll on Windows now allows you to scroll horizontally.
-Full Catalina support and notarization.
-OpenGL removed. Optimizations to rendering added.
This also includes all of the 1.1.0 improvements (soft clip toggle, legato modulation, unison phase randomization, etc.)
Triad 1.1.0 should be ready tomorrow. Figuring out how to reconcile the dynamic resizing with the toggled BYOME view in a pleasant way.

In addition to the 1.1.1 beta, the other bit of LION news today is that Ambient Works released another excellent preset pack: https://ambient-works.com/aw-soundsets
Rob's pulling some incredible sounds out of it.
