Sounds like a system specific issue or you'd think we would hear from other people reporting the same issue. Have you contacted Image-Line support or does this happen in other DAWs/Hosts as well ?

Anyway my offer stands. If I can help test in any way let me know. There must be a solution to the problem.
Hmmm..this is getting weird indeed. Running an oke system (core i7 4970k @5GHz, 16gb ram, rx480, ssd evo 850) and high refresh rate plugins run just fine.....i.e rapid, avenger, falcon, etc..

Btw, i had no issues with Hive (1.x). Hive2 is giving problems

What are you wrapper settings for your plugins?.

I can reproduce this, by intentionally using a (custom) plugin with REALLY slow redraws. Basically it seems like the MIDI input events are either delivered to, or routed through the main GUI thread, so they'll have to wait until the GUI thread is free. That would actually kinda explains why I've always felt like FL MIDI timing is rather flaky, even though this is the first time I've actually looked at it in more detail.

Exactly. It also explains why bridged plugins work better in these (extreme) cases.

I'll check the wrapper setting when I boot the studio. I can't remember if I have "Use Fixed Sized Buffers" selected for Go2 or not.

Hive 2 has more Animations now so maybe that's a clue ?

Do you have another DAW you can try on the same system ? That would help narrow it down to an FL Studio issue or not. If it only happens in FL Studio then Image-Line support could be notified.

EDIT: Here's a crazy idea....what if you change the PPQ settings in an FL Studio project ? It defaults to 96 PPQ so maybe bump it to 960 just to see if it makes a difference. I know Reaper defaults to 960 and works fine.

EDIT 2: I just checked and I do not have Use Fixed Buffers selected. I gave Go2 a play and there is no difference in midi timing or responsiveness here whether the GUI is open or not. I'm using 6ms latency, 96PPQ at 44.1k. Are you perhaps using a higher rate like 96k ? Do you have any gui Scaling done in Windows or FL Studio ? Sorry this issue has my curiosity going. If you want to start a new thread to continue the discussion I'll respond there. :)

I think Corona https://www.discodsp.com/corona/ is the best CPU/quality one.

Discovery Pro https://www.discodsp.com/discoverypro/ can handle 128 voices with a single i7 3,4 GHz core which is pretty good.

OB-Xd https://www.discodsp.com/obxd/ is pretty lightweight but understandable since it has 8 voices. Next update will include up to 32 voices.

It is.

I just tried to use Go2 without any mouse input (so using my midi kb for controlling knobs) and there is no lag at all anymore. It runs just fine without any mouse input

your mouse is lagging

not laughing at you, just the absurdity of it :hihi:

Never had an issue adding multiple instances of Harmor to a track. The very definition of powerful. Surprised it's not been mentioned.

IME, it's more CPU-friendly than some of the others mentioned in this thread - not that I have them all. A pad in Harmor is significantly less CPU strain (about half) than a less complicated patch in Massive, according to my highly unscientific experiment.

First OB-Xd iOS has to be released, so shortly after that, because the 32 voice feature should be added to everything at once (iOS, mac, win, linux perhaps Android).
