Not as far as I know. As a sonic Academy customer, I'd probably have received a notification about that. It's just a distribution agreement.

No they just licensed ANA 2 to be included in the Slate bundle

No, I believe it was just a license deal. The Slate bundle is iLok protected so I would think that includes the Slate version of ANA2.

I bought Hive 2 as it's oscillators, flexibility, and usability were the best for me. Hive was #1, followed by Dune 3, and then Spire and ANA2 tied - Spire sounded better overall, but ANA2 was more fun to use. I didn't want Serum, so call me crazy.
You're not crazy. As much as I appreciate Serum's quality, both for its sound and its interface, I find difficult to justify its price tag, considering that for roughly that price you can get heavy competitors such as Dune 3 or Hive 2, and for a little more, Zebra.

Haven't played with it much since I'm not a very good synther.

I'm quite surprised the sampler oscillators aren't mentioned more. For me that was the one feature that took it from one of those capable 'all in one' synths that sound pretty good into an indispensible bread and butter powerhouse.

Hmmmmm. A quick run through shows beautiful sounds but can be quite hungry at times.

Serum is a great tool if you are into sound design. Check out Au5 and see what he can do with Serum by loading audio files into it and creating new sounds. It is also well supported and there have been no additional costs for upgrades since it was released.

Each DAW has a different sound.

I tried the demo, and some of the sample based patches seem very restrictive tbh. But I liked it and it was a good experience. I liked the method of ascension for dealing with samples; but again, the sound is a bit raspy. Ana sounds better than most.

Good for future bass imo.

I thought the title of this thread was "Any love for ANAL?". :hihi:

I discovered this synth quite recently and I'm in love with it. It has become my choice number one for synthwave stuff together with Serum and Spire and I use it also together with some other synths I own.

I certainly would not sell ANA2 if someone gave it to me, for example! :D
you're not crazy, is a matter of tastes, I own Serum, Spire and ANA2 and don't want Hive, but Dune3 :D

I'm not so sure about Ana 2, I own Ana 1 and for the upgrade there is only a small discount of £15 (Ana 2 would cost me about 100€).
I had tested the demo but I was not so enthusiastic about it that I bought Ana2 right away.
