Forgive me if this is covered somewhere else. I didn't see it being discussed elsewhere.

So there have been rumors of massive layoffs at Native Instruments recently (100 in Berlin, alone), including the firing of the entire Maschine and Traktor staffs. There seem to be a lot of complaints about poor management, but can anyone shed any further light on what's going on over there?

Recently they were hiring. Also link to info? Or did the "rumors" start in the first post?

A search on Google brings up several results, but here is a thread discussing it over on NI's own site...

At the top of the Reddit post that started this:
WARNING: This is just pure speculation and none of what I am saying has any confirmation from official sources whatsoever.

The head-count, and which heads are at
at big tradeshows might be an indicator for people
who know people at NI.
Some support staff are turning into cookie cutters,
canned answers, sad reading skills, give up and
suggest to do full reinstalls, rather than someone
working hard on sorting rare bugs, or poor designs.

The trainwreck release of Massive X
points to inexperience where it ought not be,
especially for a new flagship product. Incongruent.
Native Access not allowing users the choice to hold off
on an update, is bad luck. A poor rollbak-scenario
exascerbates the situation. U-he don't need 'Urs Access',
you'd think the rest of Berlin's coders would take the hint.
Good luck to NI, keep the cup half full :hyper:

Wishful thinking, i guess.

Well, after you've released an orange coloured Maschine - what else is there to do? That's like the last step of product development? :hihi:

weird how it is OK on KVR to trash the more successful companies but spit on a crappy mom and pop and everyone freaks.

Either way, Maschine MK3 didn't get promised Ableton integration and these news don't make it any more likely

Or maybe it does. Maybe a restructuring is exactly what they need. There is no doubt NI still have some exceptionally good products. I am a big fan of their controllers.

Maybe this is a way for them to trim away parts that doesn't lead anywhere. I think I read somewhere on the Reddit post (or maybe at GS?) that some employee felt he/she were spending 40% of the time in meetings.
