If its a synthesizer, what are the FX choices doing here?

(Just asking because they are 2 different categories.)

To be clear : The image just shows some units already emulated by Xils. They are not choices for the answer of this game.
Then, some of these units can be used as effects AND instruments (example : VP-330).

But to answer your question precisely, it's a synthesizer, not a strict effect only.

So the question is, should we just guess blindly, i.e. it could be any synth ever made?

Needs more clarification.

Clarification is : Did you expect the game last for more than 3 minutes, selecting an unit between a dozen ?
If the right name doesn't appear quickly,some clues will probably be given. As for now, getting help from your lucky star won't harm.
