I'd like to be able to change the notes triggering the 8 sounds. Then I can have two instanciations of XO and use Reaper's Megababy to program 16 sounds over 32 hits.

Simple enough

Did you consider Reason intro (on sale around 60 €) you got Kong drum designer, Redrum, Rytmik drum, Dr Octo rex, Nnxt, plus more stuff.

I'd love it if they would bring out some expansion packs with additional presets, though

Has XLN raised their prices? I seem to recall, in the past, that the 50%-off sale price of an ADpak was $39.00. Now, their "better than winter sale" pricing is $53.97? WTH?

Every night before bed I say a prayer that XLN will add polymeter to the sequencer in XO 🙏

Does anyone have a decent workflow when working with external midi files? It's such a PITA moving notes around to match XO's midi mapping. It sucks that there still isn't midi import OR a way to edit the mapping.

Cool drum instrument. I do wish there were a way to save and recall kits and patterns separately.

I haven't done much real work with it, but it's definitely fun to play with. I need to make a few adjustments to how my samples are stored before adding them to XO.

I use Studio One's Chorder to remap notes for drum instruments lacking this feature. I'm usually mapping to my finger drumming layout, but have been meaning to create a few "translator" maps.

I know Logic has a Chorder equivalent, but I forget the name. I imagine most major DAWs have this feature. It's usually used to assign multiple notes to a single not to play chords with just that one note.
