So my question is the approximately $1000+ of Kontakt libraries going to be stolen from my account? Currently, they don't work in my current setup. I submitted a ticket to NI support and they referred me to this thread. I think it's ridiculous that these developers want to do all this licensing and copy protection, and yet I get no protection for my substantial purchases.

I have all the EWQL kontakt libraries working on my current setup. I'm hoping they will still be good to go with the new activation system.

I wonder why NI does not implement a fully offline activation tool that has no online dependencies. Perhaps they lost the original source code to repair the issue. I might suggest to NI some utilities they can use to repair their software for fully offline activation: such as BinaryNinja (requires only a serial), or if they are really strapped for cash, x64dbg is freeware. Either of these will allow them to repair their own software without requiring any source code and even generate a fully offline activation tool with absolutely no online dependencies. I hope this recommendation for NI helps them deal with their activation problems of these older products, so users can enjoy their amazing software forever.

Just a quick update on this.
We are making good progress and it looks like we are now focusing on a new offline activation tool which would allow our support to activate all the products listed. I don't have a full overview on how this would work yet but it looks very promising. I'm hoping to have more information to share very shortly.

I was up for NI's take on LA-2A compressor so was going to buy the bundle. Luckily I read about the announcement here and given they're actually made by Softube I'm wondering what the odds are they'll be updated or go unsupported at some point?

With this in mind I saw a deal that had that compressor and other plugins for a very good price, so just wanted NI to know they've lost that and all future sales to me. The only thing I care about is Kontakt, so hopefully library support will be sorted.

Yes, they bring the while brand trust down with actions like this. As I said, I also don't feel good to buy NI stuff anymore after this even though Matt seems to do a good job to solve the situation here. Some if the stuff costs a serious amount of money and are tool that play an important role in my production process that I want to keep stable over years. It's not a product like casual games that I lose interest in after some time.

It's not understandable that it's going end of live just because of a copy protection. Too much worries to invest in this stuff now until I know that that there is a trustworthy solution in the future to prevent EOL just because of the outdated copy protection. I mean I can understand that products don't work anymore because the OS is not supported anymore. But I I think there is something seriously wrong with the leader team when it's considered ok to destroy expensive samples libraries like this.

Looking very much forward to the NI solution to prevent this situations in the future and I think they should make it clear in written form somewere that this will not happen again to the users. I like these folks usually.
