If I changed manually a patch category before, will Omnitag put the patch in a probably better category or leave it alone?

Post

Hi there,

OmniTag will look at all the patches in your installation - even ones you have modified yourself.

And yes, hopefully it will find the best possible category for that patch.

Hope this helps!

Looks great! Would it be okay if I add Omnitag and site link to my batch tagging guide?

Sounds great, GMusic! Thank you!

Done! No problem. If you are interested in doing Omnitag 2.0, having an easy way to do patch images would be cool! Such as highlight one or more patches and drag and drop an image that will auto resize to the proper size and be applied to the selected patches.

Basically it would create multiple copies of that image each named after the selected patches and saved in the appropriate directories. See the guide in my signature. I'm sure you could devise something to simplify this process 8)

Hi, will the Mac version be out soon? And any plan to tackle the other out-of-control tags like "mood", "genre", and "complexity"? Complexity seems the easiest tag to fix. I think Spectrasonics moved away from a 3 tiered system to a 2 tiered, but a lot of 3rd party expansions still have the 3 tiered complexity tagging.

Hi GMusic,

Sales weren't so great for OmniTag Windows, so unfortunately my plans for the Mac version went on the back burner due to budget.

I am investigating some ways to pull off the Mac version in 2021... I just need to find a budget-friendly expert in Xamarin.Mac to help me get started.

Best,
Marcus

I can understand why that is. There are only so many people with Omnisphere, only so many who have tons of 3rd party banks, only so many who want to organize them better, and probably a small fraction of that fraction who would be willing to pay for better organization.

By the way, there are sites such as Rocky Mountain Sounds that have master lists of Omnisphere banks. Maybe you could reach out to Jason to list Omnitag there? https://www.rockymountainsounds.com/cold

Hopefully you continue to develop the Windows version. Just a couple more tag categories to go ;)

Sell it to Spectrasonics!

I'll buy it once I get a computer setup with Omnisphere and my sample libraries again.
