Great thread. (It actually was in the beginning.)

I am sure Richard is writing down every damn idiotic feature requested by "KVR product specialists" and after he develop these and release it, Obsession alone will be better then Batman himself.

:dog:
Hey, nothing beats the Bat Man! :x :P
baaaaaaaane!
oh yeah hes the only one who has ever beaten the bat indeed.

Anyone have any thoughts on making UI elements controllable by midi? That would allow the UI to be automated which may or may not be a good thing.

I bought Obsession on the weekend. Been having a wonderful time playing around with it.
I have it hooked up to my Novation Remote SL and it works really well, but I have a few usability requests:

midi or computer keyboard shortcuts for:
  • next/previous patch
  • flip to the rear plugin view
  • change which LFO is currently being viewed
ideally these would be midi controllable so I could control everything from my Remote, but if there was some other way of changing the above without having to constantly reach for my mouse, I would be happy.

If I create an expanded NKS implementation is it ok for me to update the factory NKS bank too and release it here? I'd also be happy to update Ingo's or anyone else NKS patches if they want me to (otherwise I'll just do that for my own use). Just let me know.

OK, well here's a preliminary draft of an expanded, comprehensive NKS template that covers almost all functions including A and B layers.

I have tried to make this logical and also making optimal use of both Komplete Kontrol screens and knobs but some feedback would be useful to refine it further. Then I'll apply it to the whole Factory library and any banks I have (for now those would be just for me unless I get permission to share).

yes and that is exactly why i give examples of other companies.
Synthmaster is Bulent,
Refx is Michael.
Spectrasonics is Glenn and his brother.
Fxpansion is Angus (talking about their synths) (before him Andrew)
Camel Audio was Ben.
etc

Like I said, I dont think it is a manpower issue. I just dont think for Richard it is either not important or a high priority.

This is disinformation at the finest. If you read the Fxpansion manuals they list credits, they have different teams working on their synths. BFD3 had a team of 33 people, six of which were programmers. Camel audio had more than one employee, at least 7 were on LinkedIn. Spectrasonics has 17 employees on LinkedIn.

I speak of ppl who do the actual programming, not just employees.
If you beta test for any of them you will know who does what.
I say no more.

I've beta tested for at least one company on the list and FXpansion has always been way more than Angus doing development. Skot McDonald coded big chunks of BFD3, Andrew Simper coded some FX in BFD3 and other products, as well as portions of the DCAM synths (and Etch algorithms), I'm not even sure who did primary development on Tremmor, Bloom, etc. I think Angus wrote the old DR-008 many many moons ago. Met him way back in the day at an AES. I assure you, FXpansion has had multiple developers doing actual programming beyond just Angus and it's been that way for a long time. So just not an accurate statement.

You will note I said Synths....Which for me does not include BFD3, and Etch etc.. To be precise I mean Dcam and Cypher 2 and strobe 2.
And to be even more precise Cypher/Strobe 2 which have the current browsers.
Fxpansion is Angus (talking about their synths) (before him Andrew)

Anyone tried this yet? Is it preferable to the Synapse NKS template design? I'm wondering about using it to update the factory patches or whether to keep this more as a sound designer's template?

Still love Dune 1:) Still love it more than Dune 2 and Dune 3 due to its simplicity and fewer buttons, etc.
