What I am looking for:
An appropriate drum plugin/samples
Piano
Disco strings (I might go for NI Session Strings Pro 2. Spitfire Chamber strings too expensive)

Here's what I've got and am happy with:
EZBass - very good funk bass lines
NI Session Horns Pro - nice brass sounds
I think I have a decent Rhodes
Scarbee funk guitar - its OK, but open to recommendations for other guitar vst (I'm eyeing Rifferendum 6)

Any other instruments / plugins you could recommend for these genres?
Reaper (win), i7-7700k, 16GB

Big Fish Audio has a bunch of libraries which might help with that style.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

https://www.2getheraudio.com/instrument ... machine-2/ (https://www.2getheraudio.com/instruments/cheeze-machine-2/) here's a fun little string machine vst for free that I kind of like although if you have something like the TAL-U-NO-LX you're probably just as well off finding some patches or making your own

Sampling mostly.

To elaborate, just search for famous tracks of these genres on whosampled.com
