- The new product will contain FireBird patches, which have already been ported
- The new product will contain many new patches which make use of the new features
- The new product will sell for €59 and contain over 1000 patches
- The new product will contain many new features
- The new product will have a drastically better sound
- Most likely there will be no copy-protection
Ok I'm in. :tu: Looking forward to hearing the final results.

Hence my 'history' and 'come out' of :).

But I just took a look at the prices on your website (haven't bought an expansion pack in awhile from you alas).
I don't' think they are outrageous.

And once again I could be wrong, but seems like you no longer use BigTone and Himalaya for instance or their names aren't mentioned in the newer expansions as far as I can see.

And maybe a sale or two on expansions would be great. I already have all your synths and once in awhile you do have sales on the synths which clearly won't entice someone like me, since I already have them :)

BigTone is working for Apple now. That's why Nico can not longer do sounds for us (at least this is what he told me) .
If a sound-designer applies for a set he must first show us some references of the previous work. Only designers that work on a professional level can build a set. We also give young an talented sound-designers a chance.
All soundsets released by us go through a quality-check. If a set does not fulfill the criteria it is rejected. We also do not accept duplicate or similar sounds or garbage as 'fillers'.

And thanks for your feedback. Never thought about a sale on single expansions or soundsets. From the technical aspect it's no problem to do something like this.

Agree here, I have all Tone2 synths, and I simply love them. Also have all expansions, except the latest one for Electra2. I wouldn't gain anything from the current expansion sale, but I would from a sale on single expansion.

I very much like Tone2 synths, but I draw the line at expensive 'expansions'.

If you look at most presets banks you can buy online, many of them have about half the amount of presets that each of the Tone2 expansions include.

And I wouldn't say they are expensive either. Take other official expansions for example, Avenger (65 EUR), Rapid (around 50 EUR), AAS synths (39 USD, but only around 100 presets). But then there are also cheaper, of course.

But don't most Rapid or Avenger expansions also include sample content and not just presets ? Do Tone 2 expansions also contain added sample content ? (don't know I'm asking).

Yeah, that true of course. Especially the Avenger expansions are brilliant with the extra sample material and stuff.

Edit: A few Tone2 expansions have been having extra waveforms and samples. But I guess upcoming expansions for Icarus 2 might have a bigger chance having extra material since it's more of a workstation type of synth.

Their sales are always lame as sh**. I really wonder why they don't do it like everyone else, do a 50% off sale
Please note: 83% off is much more than 50% off.

Example:
Electra2 Sounds bundle (83% discount)
Expansion + 19 soundsets (4240 sounds)
The price for the bundle is $199 instead of $990

Further refercences:

From what I can tell you only seem to have sales on bundles instead of the individual soundsets. I own most of your synths and I don't think I've ever paid much more that $99 for any of them nor have I purchased any individual soundsets.

Why would you expect folks to be excited about spending twice as much for the sounds as they did for the synth? This is especially true when you consider that most of your synths already ship with 1000+ sounds.

Now if you ever put the individual soundsets on sell for $20 or less, I'd probably pick up a few on occasion. I can more easily mentally justify $40-60 a couple of times of year than spending $200 for presets for a synth that I paid $99 for.

We released the soundset bundles because people have asked for it. There are many people who bought the synth only and wanted an option to upgrade to the 'synth + all sounds bundle' later. We did listen to the customers and added such an optional offer last month.
Most other companies also do offer soundset bundles.
Please do also note:
Our soundsets and bundles contain a lot more patches than the competition. There are no garbage sounds or similar sounds included. Everything is hand-picked.

We will implement your requests for cheap and small soundsets. First small sets will be released within the next months.

We will release sets with 100 or 128 sounds. The price will be $19. The sets will not come with a demo-song or additional content (and maybe without an installer). It will be 'just-sounds'.

Please note: It is not economic at all for us to sell something below this price. The $19 include VAT, $6 for the online-shop, the costs for support and we need to pay the sound-designers.
