Enough vintage already. How about some "Modern" synth suggestions?

Phase Plant has not been mentioned yet and I would consider it one of the most modern synths out there:

What about RAPID as a modern synth by Parawave Audio? Reminds me a but of Nexus from the demos Though 650 presets is nothing.
Never mind. Way too trancy for my taste like Tone2 but it is modern though.

I know why vintage is the way many developers want to roll. In order to sell anything at all that is not completely traditional you have to educate the public (they generally do not want education) and describe your technology so they can appreciate it. You'll have a raft of competitors (and freeware) undercutting you the next week. I hate this situation, but there are really creative developers out there. You just have to find and support them.

Fathom. It doesn't really imitate any vintage gear, and has some unique features.

I watched the videos other posters have linked to, and most of them made me realize that I'm a lot more normal than I knew. I'll have to work harder, I guess.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

This was mentioned a couple times so now I'm curious enough to check it out.

People have mentioned ArcSyn in a couple of threads, how is it in terms of CPU usage and what's the copy protection, the kvr page doesn't say.

Sounds like C/R / serial: https://www.spcplugins.com/arcsyn-manual#installation

After purchasing an authorisation code from us, enter your name and code into the ArcSyn info window by copying and pasting or typing, then click enter.

Thanks. If it's a basic serial CP, then I'm even more interested. Sounds nice.

the only thing that made Absynth more modern than a Prophet was some distortion?

i thought it was the "metallicish green gui" (tm)?
although, it's named after an old drink, so who knows?

Post

there are probably few who have had absynth lately @vurt. actually, ..... (here comes the mansplaine part) the prophet X is pretty absynth like.

Post

yes, it did experience a resurgence, especially with the vamps.
still not a new drink.
older than kylie even, and le trec.

Post

there is a biker bar down the road that will serve it (no lie).
