I was always tempted to buy Nemesis, but so far I didn't, maybe Nemesis 2 will do the trick.
Looking forward to hear Nemesis 2, and know what has been improved/added.
When is it expected to be released ?

so why not just say that in the first place?
im not after trade secrets or top security files
any, looks like I'm already covered in the ARM/neofm stakes already if that's the bones of it...

FM or PM is usually always audio-rate modulation. Why should I mention this explicitly?

Sorry for busting your balls, the stick is our of my butt, at least until the next time it finds its way up there...AnX wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 2:04 pmim asking a legitimate question, politely.... and I'm not asking youPieBerger wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 12:04 pmSince when is any dev under any sort of obligation to explain the technical details of their products to anyone? If you're not satisfied with the (somewhat vague, I'll admit) explanation in the manual, then you can simply demo the product yourself, to decide if the benefits of NeoFM are apparent/significant to/for you. That would be a much better use of your time, rather trying to cause a stir here.
Always Read the Manual!

I was asking for an explanation of this so called new thing called neofm, you seemed to struggle to actually explain itMarkus Krause wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 4:29 pm FM or PM is usually always audio-rate modulation. Why should I mention this explicitly?

Can't wait till Nemesis 2 is out. I just picked up v1. I gotta say the randomization features you're adding to your synths is what is drawing me in.
I've had so much fun with the randomization thing on Warlock. You never know what is going to happen, but most of the time the result is useable.

@AnX
As usual your true intention is to provocate and to start and arguement. That's why all you future posts will be ignored

I suppose the secret of a useful randomization feature is systematically prohibiting a lot of possible parameter value configurations.rodanmusic wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 8:14 pm Can't wait till Nemesis 2 is out. The approach of just setting all parameters to random values does not work well in practice for more complex plugins. You usually end up with lots of garbage. In the worst case a synth can even crash (this should of course not happen if it is properly coded) or output extremely loud signals.
The random-button needs to be 'smart'. This can be achieved with machine-learning or statistic approaches.

The method that I always liked--well, adored--is in Crystal. You feed it two patches and click the mutate button and it sort of splices the DNA of the two randomly. You still get the clunkers, but I also always got wonderfully surprising results! And they didn't always immediately display either parent's characteristics.Markus Krause wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 11:32 pm The approach of just setting all parameters to random values does not work well in practice for more complex plugins. I have mixed feelings about using machine learning, unless all of one's own patches are fed into it as well. Just using the factory patches as a starting point probably gives tame-ish results.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

it was to cut thru the marketing blurb and get an honest answer
as usual, you get very defensive and struggle to give one, end of.
good luck with the update.

neoFM is definitely not a marketing blurb. Anyone can easlily validate this by downloading the free demo.

You can directly hear the difference when you switch between 'classic FM/PM' and 'neoFM' in Nemesis.
Click on the Synthesis Mode selector. Then select 'neoFM' vs 'FM/PM Vintage DX'.
References:
KEYS (a printed magazine from Germany):
"NeoFM provides a much larger sonic range than classic FM. It produces harmonic sounds where conventional synths provide only garbage. Tone2 succeeds in reinventing the FM synthesis. The sound cuts through the mix. It's very flexible, has a huge sonic range and a lot of dynamic expression."
Amazona:
"Nemesis plays in the highest league. The versatile synthesis engine can replace a studio filled with hardware. All that with expensive, first-class sound quality. NeoFM sounds more balanced compared to classic FM."
