I think he means previewing a preset before loading

Oh, you mean selecting a preset in a browser and leaving the browser open while you play?
I think a lot of synths do that, I only use Retrologue 2 and Invader 2 these days, and both do.

I don't know Nexus, but I am pretty sure it also loads a new patch internally...
