Some useless oldschool Kawai K1 links floating around my brain from when the synth was used new:
The mighty Drexciya (James Stinson RIP) was a big K1 fan. You'll recognise the K1's choirs, bells & slap bass in this track Neon Falls and throughout the amazing The Quest album.

The main pads in the timeless 1990s LFO - LFO was a K1 too.

And Ability II Pressure, arguably the greatest bleep dub techno track of all time was done at LFOs studio in 1990 uses a few sounds from the same K1 I believe.

Hello folks!
My music might be s**t, but for me is all about the fun and trying different things.
So, I am very interested that this month the OSC is different in not just one but two ways: we are using a rompler instead of a synth and modulation and/or extreme effects are allowed. - So I am definitely in for this one!
Just to clarify one point on the rules, please:
When you say free, does that include effects that are built-in/included with the DAW?
When you say no audio rate modulation can I interpret that as long a the carrier and the modulator are both sounds from the K1v, then I can do whatever I want (muah ah ah ah ) ?

- Effects: For this month only the rules on Fx type are relaxed i.e. modulations, distortions, granular etc. may all be used (and can go full 11!) as long as the source sound is from the K1v - no external sound generators or audio rate modulations. All Fx used must be freeware and be freely available at the start of the competition, no betas.

Effects included with the DAW are generally permitted, so I would assume they remain permitted and the rules about heavy effects are relaxed for them as well. When you say free, does that include effects that are built-in/included with the DAW?
Hmm, good question. Like ring modulation between two instances. Could be interesting. When you say no audio rate modulation can I interpret that as long a the carrier and the modulator are both sounds from the K1v, then I can do whatever I want (muah ah ah ah ) ?
I was wondering about comb filters.

If everything can be turned upto 11, & granular is okay, then I don’t think there would be an issueFrogsInPants wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:20 pm

ARGH a full day of creating patches and this happened to me. VST2s are fine just Windows 10 VST3bh9090 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 11:40 am Don't spend a lot of time editing then think your DAW will save the config. Upon reloading, all patches went back to the lovely
IA-1 Ahh
I guess we'll need to edit patches, export the bank, then use program changes to load up the correct patch?
Would also need to import that bank on every instance every time you load the project?
Maybe I'm missing something. Hopefully.
EDIT!: This was the VST3 version on WIndows 10. VST2 DLL WORKS FINE AND SAVES.

Don't know if the developer is reading here, but these are my two logs as the DAW attempts to load the saved plugin's state from the .vstpreset file or when loading a saved .vstpreset file manually into the K1v. Not a big issue for me but I assume some do prefer to use VST3 where possible.

I didn't understand everything, but it seems he initially chose an ironic line in relation to the synthesizer. In addition, perhaps he has an instance not in the best technical condition)
Anyway, I liked his jams! And it seems even more than himself!
