Yes, this one works! :hyper:
Wow, this could get an interesting challenge again! 8)

I've already pulled of a first sketch ...

This synth is actually a real challenge. I enjoy fiddling around trying to find usefull sounds ...
Still no chance for me to get anywhere near a bdr or snare without the help of the presets as a starting point. And on top of the tweaked preset for the BDR I have used EQ, two Compressors in series, and even rather agressive parallel Compression to get it punchy.

The Knights That Say Ah!
https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/the- ... hat-say-ah

Update: The previews mix included the Immersive Headphone correction ... silly me :-(

Enjoy the punchy sound of the knights galopping thru the country with their coconuts ... on their quest to find the holy grale of techno music.

It was quite a hazzle to come up with good sounds as I've mentioned already. I stole the BDR, snare and hihats from the presets, tweaked them and threw a good deal of EQ and Compressors/Dynamics plugins on them. I think the mix is pretty good, as all the details shine through even when listening at moderate volume level.

Details will follow:
No big suprise anyways, all my usual stuff...New in the Arsenal is "Mix Space" (see my post on #184 thread) which was very helpful and i put a pinch of Compressor+ on top as icing on the master channel
25 Instances of the Synth
Bitwig 5.2: Tool, Delay, PeakLimiter, Mid-Side-Split
3rdParts Plugins: Tal Reverb, Valhalla SuperMassive, MEqualizer, MCompressor, MTremolo, Lens, LoudMax, Mix Space, A1StereoComtrol, Portoplug with a Chord Splitter/Arp Lua Script of my own.
Meters and Listening: Youlean, PsyScope, Immerse Virtual Studio, TBAudio mVMeter

Hilarious that I made it to page one!

Talking about the Plugin "Mix-Space": I was curious whether there's already an update been released. I looked a little into the github Repo and it seems this thingy has been built with Cycling '74s RNBO framework ... but that's just me guessing from the name of this source file here: https://github.com/mannixsquared/mix-sp ... es/RNBO.cpp
If this is RNBO than that's not bad ... I cannot read RNBO config files, so guessing again ... the magic seems to be a 3 or 4 band dynamic eq. But nevertheless impressive as there is basically no custom code

I really like the sound of this synth. Not a big range but has this.... gritty, very "real" sound. If that makes any sense. Feels like what I imagine old (good) hardware would sound like, not that I've ever had any.

I'm tempted to listen already, but I'm still trying to keep my explorations with this one as virgin as possible, hehe.
Yeah, it's really a beautiful little piece, this synth. I've done some wild things with it already and have only started to discover its potential. It's all in the finer choices on this one, I think. Maybe I'll post some of my experiments along the line, too. Got 3 already, hehehe.

That would be nice to hear.

Hey guys. Here's my entry for this round. I couldn't make a reasonably sounding crash cymbal, so hopefully the drums are acceptable without it :-) Overall I liked the retro sound of the synth. Too bad it's monophonic, so arranging chords was a bit of a hassle.

Made in Cakewalk. 13 instances of SEM. epicVerb, OTT and W1 Limiter as the external FX.

Here is my submission.

DAW: Bitwig

Number of SEM instances: countless due to many polyphonic Bitwig devices. (instrument selector)
(I'll try to count them programmatically, otherwise I'll count manually and put a number here as an edit later)

Plugins:
FreeClip, kHs Filter, kHs Nonlinear Filter, kHs Trance Gate, ValhallaSupermassive, stock plugins

Tiny insight about solo lines in my track.
I recorded them by playing on my keyboard, but If you think I am good at playing in realtime you're so damn wrong.
I already experimented with pentatonic scale before (with additional jazzy semitone transition between 3rd and 4th note on that scale), even in OSC, it's a simple way to get solo line done, playing it mindlessly can be fun but also can be considered a childish play.
I think I've managed to make it sound more professional by recording it at half of the original tempo, section by section, not everything at once.
By playing in such a low tempo I have a space to play it more precise, without the need of quantization. Tiny mistakes were still manually adjusted in my DAW.
Even in such a low tempo I was unable to make a vibrato and pitchbend effects in a go, so I left a space for them when I was playing, only then I edited pitchbend and vibrato manually.
Also kinda by my mistakes during recordings I found a very fast, tiny notes that "tweets" in a pleasant way, so I've decided to leave them as is, also I added some manually just because I liked how it sounds.

We're still on page one?

I wrote this thing which is very unlikely to be my submission but I do like it. It could be improved I guess. I have another project I'll probably submit.
