I hear this emotional, expressive lead sound on a ton of 80s & 90s ballads. Please share what synth & preset patch this comes from. Ive gotta have it..

(EDIT-I've narrowed it down to a late 70s synth, this sound was so prominent on an album from 1978..Bobby Caldwell self-titled..but which synth? what patch?}

..must be some classic synth from say the late 70s or 80s, & popularized into the 90s..

Ok. I found an alternative 'Take Me Back to Then' upload on youtube.
At least in this song, it's a standard dual-oscillator sawtooth lead. Slightly detuned, not too much. LPF cutoff suitably low, some filter envelope mod, soft attack....pretty standard affair. You should be able to make a sound like this in most VA synths.
