Drastically Time Stretching a Sample with Non-Uniform Rate

Hopefully I can explain this clearly.
I've got a talking sample that I want to start off normally, but then begin to slow down at a decreasing playback rate, without pitching it.
To be a little more concrete, if the normal playback rate is 1, then it should start at 1, then x seconds later be playing at rate 0.75, x more seconds later at rate 0.5, x more seconds later at rate 0.25 and x more seconds later at rate 0 (i.e. stopped).
I'm not sure if it's possible to do this without pitching the sample and without introducing a severe granularizing effect.
If anyone has any plugin (or otherwise) suggestions, I'd be grateful.

Not sure if it fits that need, but PaulStretch has the best timestretching algorithms out there. Can stretch to 800% and such easily. It's standalone and offline processing, though, but freeware: http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/
