How to make that sound...

Ok cool.

That just sounds like most string patches you get on most synths.

I dunno, will find it eventually.

Anyone know what preset it is?

I'm not sure that D7 Reverb Strings sounds like it although your example was a much higher octave,

Not sure what you mean by "what preset". You mean factory preset?

Even a relatively simple but true and versatile synthesizer like the Roland JX10 can produce thousands of sounds. The presets are generally just meant to be a starting point. Although some presets have become quite famous.

It is more likely that you will not find the exact preset anywhere...

A "simple" but very effective tool to quickly get many very useful stringy/brassy/pad sounds (including ye olde string machine type):

2getheraudio - Cheeze Machine 2
A recently released remastered version of the original and extremely popular Cheeze Machine virtual instrument by the original author (Big Tick Audio)

It can do (many) other types of sounds too (like pads, b(r)asses and plucks). Definitively worth checking out.
Just returning to this again. In amidst remaking the whole track. I have a feeling that intro pad / string sound is a bass pad sound and a violin chord sound?

A year and a half have past. Looks like your still looking for that specific presets.

The nineties where full of ROMplers. Might just be a Korg M1 as you said. Thousands of of nineties songs contain M1 sounds. These Korg M1 Factory Presets sort of match the track.

27 - Strings

08 - PanFlute

20 - Piano 16' (found in many, many nineties tracks, especially dance)
https://www.synthmania.com/Korg%20M1/Au ... ano16'.mp3

The Organ is less of a match:

17 - Organ2 (great and ultra famous preset, but in this track it would then be filtered and squashed to death)

Thanks.

I did know all of what you stated above already. Just been tryna recreate this track lately.

I was just tryna recreate the intro pad / string sound. It was from the Roland Super JX10 but there is no VST of it. Was trying on the PG-8X. Was getting close but thought, it sounds like a violin mixed in with a pad.

The intro synth string pad sound is pretty generic. Any decent synth has a preset that's close to the sound.
