Indeed. DIY modular?

Maybe I should build one eventually, in the end I'm an engineer :scared:

These do look pretty interesting! Lovely design work as ever from Teenage Engineering.

DIY modular is pretty well-established by the way, lots of interesting Eurorack modules are available as kits or even just as PCBs. Back in the day PAiA kits were the way to get a modular for less than a minimoog. There are some online stores that specialise in synth DIY now.

Yeh, this looks fun.

DIY modular is quite common, cases and modules, this is more Lego style modular than DIY, you don’t have to solder the components on the pcb’s

I have the OP-Z, so this bodes well for the promised CV Module, the Z is one hell of a sequencer.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Only one interesting is that 500€ piece of kit. More or less surprisingly :P

The keyboard/sequencer seems like a fun addon to a semimodular or Euro rig. Tunable keys are cool :)

Looks excellent, so does the promo video.
Sounds and presets for UVI Falcon "Iterata X".
Bazille soundset - Crystalline Textures 3.

No polarity protection seems a bit scary.

Looks interesting, although i'm amused by the "poor man's modular" slant to their advertising, especially when someone like "look mum, no computer" has built his big modular for approximately £1000. You clearly get a hell of a lot more bang for your buck going that extra mile.

excluding the £10,000 worth of his (Patreon-supported) time, of course. ;)
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Sure there's plenty of time involved but whereas everyone who makes their own system is going to get something unique. Teenage engineering are a unique company but their products can never be described as unique as they're made in their thousands and multiples thereof.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

While I love the look and design of it - and I thought it sounded really nice - it's really a modular package for beginners. Maybe the more experimental stuff will come later? Or what do you guys think?

Agreed, it's pretty basic by design. I don't know if they want to see how well it sells, avoid confusing people with wavefolders and PLLs and sequential switches, keep their costs down by not offering too many different products, or some of each.
